Good and the Bad

Looking at last blog date, very interesting. The day after that blog was written I lost another great herd animal, this time the best animal so far produced. HD’s Mysterious Ways or Myst I found dead wed morning in her cage, Alana her cage mate in the corner, witnessed it all, poor girl. :( It was also unexpected as this doe was just shy of 6 months old. I did an autopsy and discovered she had an abscess mass on her stomach that had ruptured, causing massive internal bleeding ultimately leading to her death. (Sorry for the lingo, I am an EMP after all) This doe was just coming outta gangles the past month, the picture taken of her was a week before her death, she was going to be a show stomper for sure. She is what I am striving for in my herd, guess I was not ready to have that goal handed to me just yet but I will not give up! Maybe she reincarnated into one of the babies from my current litters, who knows.
Now before I begin updates for the past week, I must first say that these 3 deaths in a 1.5 week time were not related to disease or even bad food. They were just a “series of unfortunate events” that happened to take place at the same time. I figure best I can come up with is the last 2 weeks have been such nice weather might have triggered some of the internal stuff. I have a closed rabbitry and medicate/isolate rabbits when nessessary as well as keep tabs on a strict feeding regime. So please don’t worry when you buy a rabbit from me!
Ok so on to updates! With the 3 major losses comes 3 good things, almost like fate. First I had my first litter with Sobek born on the 18th with Bette. 3 happy fat babies. Two perfects with what looks like some very thick eyebands like dad and a broken sport! I just about died when I saw it, NEVER expected it! Ive wanted a broken for soooo long, not only because they are adorable but also they help darken/thicken the eyebands which I desperately need in 2 of my lines. Ive also seen/heard that brokens are nicer typed then any perfect hotot and can fix type by a mile. So the broken is most likely staying as are the rest, I may grow them all out unless some are ugly in type or all same gender. The same day I had my first homebred hotot flower give birth to 4 babies. She was bred to Laura-anns black polish herd buck Blackie who has at least 3 legs. Super nice buck! Strangely I was expecting broken marked hotots instead I got hotot marked with some black spots on face, ears and back. Just like the common places to find black spots on hotots. I will most likely keep a doe out of this litter to grow out, I really need a compact typed body and the polish bloodline might just fix it. The rest will be available as pets because they are F1 crosses…or crossbreds lol. But both excellent tempered and small size. The icing on the cake was on the 23rd, I come home to find starwalker giving birth in her cage. The night before I noticed she had pulled a tiny bit of hair so I happened to give her a nestbox, being 5 days early I thought whatever. She had the babies in the nestbox, premature but moving. I took some hair from bettes box to cover them because walker was struggling and exhausted from the birthing process. She ended up having the last dead baby 7 hours later, was stuck perty good. She is doing great now, babies are happy and fat. Not bad for a first time mom that’s almost 2 years old! I was VERY surprised, I was about to advertise her as a pet because this was her 6th attempt and this time she only took once with ELO, other times it had been 5-6 times. She will be however available to a pet home after this litter, I don’t want to risk breeding her again knowing this time was very hard to kindle, not to mention she was very early. I will be keeping this whole litter unless all same sex or ugly lol. Eyebands look very nice though! As for the last doe that hasn’t given me a litter, stargazer. I have put her in with ELO for 2 weeks in hopes she gives me something like she did last time. She’s only getting one more chance then she will be going to pet home as well.
So I have 10 new babies in the box, will be breeding both my thriantas and some new hotots after the chestermere show beginning of may and hopefully savannah will have a live litter in a couple weeks so my hotot program can move forward!
Note to all, I do have a pair of hotots im letting go, I wouldn’t call them a breeding pair as they are half siblings but good for a program nonetheless. I am currently out of town working in a camp for a week until the easter weekend so will get in touch with people who have contacted me after this time. I will be bringing just about everyone except pregnant/current moms at the easter displays this weekend…dawson creek co-op mall on Friday and easter extravaganza on sat. Will also have a whole bunch of other breeds to see and some for sale, lots of breeding stock in many breeds and of course information booths! Come check it out! Horrible Week

This last week has been one of the worst in my years of breeding and totally unexpected. Losing two great animals within a short period of time was quite discomforting to say the least.
First happened last wed, I noticed zoey was not acting normal at all, she is usually the first rabbit at cage door at feeding time yet this time she did not move from the corner, I figured she was sleeping. I then grabbed her and noticed she was not moving too much, also noticing how she flinched when I touched her. I talked to Helga and figured she had a massive stoke because the color in eyes was gone and she was not even reacting to my voice, poor girl. Thurs morning I put her out of her misery and put her down, she was under 6 years old, being from the first fuzzy lop litter I had and also the last “original” I had left from my old herd. This doe showed no signs of health problems at all and always eating tons! She was a sweetie though and I will miss her a lot. :( RIP Zoey

Second was even more unexpected. On Sunday I happened to have the day off work and had some people coming to get some rabbits, I was showing them the dwarfs and noticed calvin sleeping in corner of cage with his pig buddy. Figured he’s an old man and needs his sleep, also had door open so sun was on him. After they left I went back out and seen he still hadn’t moved, I picked him up and he was limp in my arms. Bringing him in house he wasn’t moving and started to seizure, about half hour later I went outside and put him down, almost beat me to it the little pain. That last half hour I was petting him, he must have known his time was up, loving every pet closing his eyes and enjoying it. I will miss him even though I only had him for a short time, he loved attention and was never mean. The last 6 months he was spoiled silly with treats, runs in the house and a pig buddy. His kids and grandkids I have here will live on. RIP Calvin :(

In more positive news I have 2 does due this week, Bette bred to Sobek (who is doing better finally) and Flower, my home bred who is bred to a GC polish buck from Laura-ann. I may keep a doe from litter we shall see.

In regards to my herd in development, looks I will be getting two unrelated proven brood does at Chestermere. Helps to replace the two does I lost this past month and a new bloodline. So for whats for sale it will be whatever is out of these litters, Dice will be available once I breed him to someone and also ELO this summer once I can finally get a litter outta him and stargazer. I will be using sobek and devil on my does for now as both are different blood and size, etc.
Devil is looking awesome in development, he is still 1 pound 4 oz now, as big as the pig buddy haha. Filling in head and still super sweet personality. Myst on the other hand has surprised the hell outta me this past couple weeks if I haven’t mentioned by now! She is filling out in body and head just beautifully. Take a look on the home page of a pic of her I took with my camera, shes gonna be a beaut! Jewel is also starting to look like her half brother devil with chubby cheeks and nice short body, will be a nice show doe too! Other then that I will update when I get litters in next day or so and find time to get some decent pics!

So its been a couple weeks since the wetaskiwin show. I did attend with Laura-ann and we had a bit of fun. This show was more of a learning experience for me and my hotots in trying to understand the type and characteristics of them to make better show animals. I ended up bringing my jr buck devil, jr doe myst outta aly, bette, starwalker and flower a just sr doe. I also brought the three babies out of sweet who I just sold to a pet home. Im keeping both her daughters to grow out and see well they do. Funny thing is who to pick! Sweet emotion looks like a carbon copy of her mom but with a much fuller HQ and smaller size, still lacking in head but more defined eyebands, excellent body doe. Jewel on the other hand has a super cute head with correct ear and very very DARK eyebands, just not as clean as id like but definitely a start! Body wise she is short but lacking in shoulders like her half brother devil She is a head and eyeband doe lol. What to pick! We shall see I guess haha.
Getting back to show, my comments with both judges was very harsh but definitely what I needed and was aware of. These guys are a project and will take a while to get very nice in type. I was mainly lacking in correct size eyebands and depth with shoulders. Devil took BOB on 2 tables and very surprising myst took BOS & 1 BOB on other tables, she has great potential and was told she is nicer then walker and bette, both my best does, both judges agreed. I showed my jr thrianta doe Alana, both judges commented she has excellent body type and is a BIS contender when older and molted out of her jr coat. Im sooo excited for chestermere now! Im definitely kicking myself now for not bringing roo my frenchie buck. I tried for a month to get him back to normal weight after his little crisis over a month ago, he went off feed and refused to eat unless I was around, geezz separation anxiety or what. He was in coat for the show just was .4 pounds under the sr buck weight..damn. Maybe Chestermere, id really really like to grand him, he has placed so well in past and I know he has nice type and super cute personality! No I did not come home with anything haha. Just sold bunch of thriantas and the fuzzy and Holland bucks out of my lines. Leslie who bought BJ my blue tort Holland buck showed him over the weekend. He was of course DQ’d for being overweight but I was truly amazed at the comments. Both judges quoted he has excellent shoulders, excellent depth, HQ and bone, just folded ears and needs tiny bit more width between eyes, if he was underweight he would have gotten perty high in class. I was stunned considering how many hollands were there and how tight the competition is! Good luck with him Leslie, he should give some color and fix some bodies. He was also bred to Suzans broken blue doe out of Marg’s stuff, so should be some gorgous typed babies in there if she took, cant wait!
Arriving home from the show I had a sad sight of finding Ballade dead in her cage from what was pregnancy toxaemia. I preformed an autopsy on her and found she had 6 babies inside, 1 day from being due. So sad. :( RIP Ballade
Now this begs a serious question, where are my hotots going, I just lost ballade which was my other 2 lines. I do have her daughter starwalker who is excellent in type but I cannot get her pregnant. I have a feeling she was never bred before and she’s almost 2 years old now. I bred her to ELO once again last week, this is the last attempt for her, if she doesn’t have anything I will pet her out. So now that is 2 full lines ive lost.
I do have sav due today who is bred to sobek for his first litter. Sobek is another one im worried about, he picked up something at some point before getting to my place and hasn’t been better ever since. Currently im unable to give him antibiotics because he has lost so much weight this past week, will try to get his weight back up before dosing him again, poor guy.
Stargazer is also due this week but im not sure if shes pregnant or not. Ive palpated does for years and these hotots I just cant figure out, they are definitely pregnant, u can feel the lumps in lower part but they never have the litter. I’m wondering if its all retained kits or something, who knows. Why I’m trying to get something out of these older does to replace with younger stock I can at least get bred. Will have to wait and see.
Bette is supposedly pregnant too with sobek but who really knows. The only one I can confirm on is flower who is bred to one of laura-anns polish for a test breeding and see if eyebands improve, hopefully! I will be breeding all these young jr does after chestermere show in may so hopefully get some nice stock!
The real question here is where do I go, I currently have 2 real lines with little bits in between. They are BOJ’s Calvin which is in EVERYTHING I have, I don’t think I have a single animal without his name in there pedigree. The other major line is RC’s Colton which goes back to Charisma which is also related to everything I have, my goodness! So the plan for this year is to somehow find a black, blue or chocolate netherland dwarf buck and doe to put into my hotot line to fix the eyebands and type also to get a decent sized head on them. Not really much of a choice because everything I can find out there is still related to my stuff so tightly. The convention this year is in Minnesota which turns out is super close to the Canadian border so I may end up either driving there myself to go shopping or someone bringing back a super nice pair of dwarf hotots to use in my program. Otherwise im screwed for my breeding program. One consideration to put into play is if I do end up losing starwalker and then sobek on top of that I will put a hiatus on my hotots until I can find some decent stock to work with, maybe get a pair of Netherlands in the meantime to play with. Breeding full siblings and half siblings related to uncles and aunts just doesn’t work for me.
So that is the plan for this year in terms of breeding, now easter is coming up in April which I will be going back to the park of course for the easter extravaganza. I would also love to do a display for the gp mall this year if possible, will have to see! That is all for now, I will post again if any babies come along!

New Post Finally

Wow I just noticed I have not written a blog in FOREVER..once again..how many times have I said that now, hmm. Anyways lots has changed since last blog. Of course the biggest is these dwarf hotots, acquiring pieces from several different breeders to create a herd of my own. Honestly they are the most easy going most easy to breed ive had and there small size keeps my feed bills cheap. Warning this blog will be a monster one I swear!

Why I got the Dwarf Hotot? How did this start?
When I lived back on the island I had gone to a show with Andrea of Electric bunny and that was the first time I saw them up close, they were super sweet and crawling out of the carriers for attention. There cute nature and small size caught my eye but at the time I was showing well with my Holland lops and American fuzzy lops so never took much notice. After the loss of my fuzzy herd couple years ago because nobody would breed I did not want to breed again, it was a MAJOR turn off, 2 years of either no babies or nothing, even if my fuzzies were winning on the table that did not matter if I could not get babies out of them. After that time I thought well lets try this one more time with another breed, then I thought of the dwarf hotots. Andrea had already sold out by then which I found out and was devastated. I then began researched every piece of information on the breed and any breeders that were left in Canada. I also started to track down where Andrea’s hotots went to. I found a lady in Edmonton with a son of Electric’s Glass Tiger and went and got some, they were not the best quality but definitely a start. I knew if I could not find the certain lines I would be starting from scratch. I emailed a breeder in Saskatchewan with no reply, then a month later got an email saying he was selling out of his rabbits and was willing to sell his herd of dwarf hotots. It was take all or none though, so I made some decisions, bought some dwarf cages and made some room in my new shed. I brought home 7 rabbits with 3 different lines consisting of pieces of Andrea’s old herd. This included her original herd buck Calvin, he Is now retired living with a tsw American boar, love each other to bits. I would like to one day put Calvin and Boo my Holland together to live out the rest of there days with company, who knows. The lines I acquired were BOJ’s Calvin, Mingus Omega, Mingus Charisma and my fav Electric’s Nightwish. I then emailed another breeder in Victoria who was coming up for a show and then got a buck that is grandson to another Andrea herd member Mingus Primus and also an unrelated breeding doe with thicker eyebands. This completed my pieces from Andreas old herd. I chose to go after her animals because of the quality, the breeding because of Mingus background and the selective culling that was done to produce nice animals. The potential was there to get some nice animals!

First Generation
The first generation of dwarf hotots is already here and almost ready to breed already so little too late on explaining! My first litter was with Savannah and Colton, producing Flower Child, she is a larger doe but with the correct mass in body and wide shoulders and HQ makes a nice broodie. The only problem ive seen and I know I will need to fix are the eyebands, Colton may have been a super nice buck and TINY but he was severely lacking in eyebands, so thin almost to the point of a break. He has thrown this in more then 50% of his litters too, which is why he was culled. My next litter was with Aly and Light Orchestra, a Calvin son, this was his first litter. Produced some decent hotots, but they are still so gangling I will not be able to see how they turn out, looked good as babies. I did get some nice eyebands though, little feathered on top and smaller size with ok type, can fix that in future. Bettes litter was the best so far, created 2 copies of show mingus quality animals. Angel who is now sold and Devil. He looks NOTHING like any hotot I have, im assuming these guys are throwbacks because of quality and size. Devil will be my herd buck used this summer on all my does, super friendly too. He is the focus of a true hotot head and ears with the small size. I will be line breeding him to enhance this type. Of course Devil got his dads shoulders, almost pinched but I have some broodies who can fix that. My last litter out of Sweet was not too bad either, being full sibling to Devil and Angel I expect no less, 2 super nice does and finally a hotot with thick defined eyebands with no feathering. As for the rest of my hotots, when I received them they had not been bred if ever so this was a challenge. It took 3 times for both Bette and Sweet to have litters. I finally got something out of Gazer this last month so she is proven now and Ballade has been living with ELO for 2 weeks now so I should get something this time, she Is proven. Walker has been very stubborn, she is my best doe in type and eyebands with an honour mention at the Manitoba show last year as a sr. I will try her with any of my bucks to get something!
What to Work on With Dwarf Hotots
So this next generation I have another new buck added because my lines are already so tight, he is slightly related to Andrea’s first animals and with a buck out of the states. He is small, nice substance to ears and head but why he’s here is because of those super super thick dark eyebands. I have the body type in my does, I just need head, ears and eyebands. He will be bred to all my does this Feb/March after Wetaskiwin. I will then breed his babies to Devil and linebreed the two together. I also have pieces here and there, Devil is lacking in shoulder yet Flower and Myst could use a better HQ so works both ways.
New Project
Because I am losing my eyebands from breeding and am unable to find a single sport marked around, I have decided to bring in another breed and might as well bring in some color as well. Now this is up in the air still as to what color. I would LOVE to find a blue but I know it is almost impossible to find one. The breed choices I have are the polish because similar posing style and type or the netherland which could also fix my head and ear. If I am unable to find a blue I will settle with a nicely typed chocolate polish. The point is to fix my eyebands and bring in some color! It will be very exciting. I plan on using flower for this program and will breed her after Wetaskiwin.
Thriantas
Ok so some are wondering what are you doing with these thriantas then?! Well I admit I love the breed to bits, they are super sweet different personalities and gorgeous type and lines I have. I will be bringing them to the show and seeing if a new breeder is interested in them. It’s impossible to do two different breeds at once with only 18 holes to use. Alana, an only daughter out of Jillian and Forrest is turning into a beautiful doe, weighs 4 pounds at 4 months old, already over sr weight. Very nice body and color is coming in nicely. I expect her to show VERY well in the future. Worst case scenario if I am unable to find these guys a home is to sell Carmen and her leftover babies, keep Jillian because she is sterile and my pet as well as keep Alana and borrow a buck and sell Forrest to a pet home or cull, he is 4 years old currently, just a big old man. Otherwise that is all I’m doing with my thriantas. I refuse to let these guys go to waste, Jillian is full sibling to the 2006 BOB convention thrianta and forrest is uncle to the 2008? Or 09? BOB convention thrianta so ya excellent lines there.

Hotot Takeover

I had forgotten to say the memorial mention of Blue. As most were aware he had a large tumor on his back left leg. Nothing could be done and it was my wish to keep him as comfortable as possible until his time comes. The last few weeks he was always outside in the grass running around enjoying life with the odd playtime with Boo. I decided to bring him to dawson fair because he loved car rides and wanted to be center of attention. When we got to the fair I took him out of the carrier to put him into his cage and he sliced open his tumor, realizing there was a vet next door I took him over to have him put down. And im gonna say this...unfortuntately the vets didnt have a clue about rabbits and it took them 35 min to finally put him down. VERY sickening. He had a nice life, he was the last original rabbit left from when I started breeding all those years ago, he will be missed dearly!! RIP Blue :(
In memorial I aquired a couple of his grandkids, knowing Blues bloodline, he has a tentency of throwing his head to his grandkids, so who knows!! His grandson BJ looks like a carbon copy of Milkshake, Blues son outta Clover and I found out after Milkshake ended up getting a monster head so im curious. He will stick around until I see what he looks like as an adult. Hoping!

Ok back to hotots...as many know I aquired some hotots as my new breeding program a few months ago. They were all related but when there are none around to find, best do with what you can do! When I had found out Kathy was coming up then I got another pair with similar bloodlines. And a new secret, I will be getting some more hotots soon outta Electrics stuff directly. Have to wait and see! But in the meantime im clearing out some other rabbits, such as Emma. That doe just doesnt have the thick eyebands I need and she is pinched so will be going to a pet friendly breeding home eventually. Keira is in the same boat but I would like to get a litter outta her first because she has a different line then all. So both my sr does are both bred to my jr bucks who happen to have the same birthdate..darn creepy haha. But both are nice and both sr does are proven so should get some babies. Im hoping Savannah will throw a sport or two because I also need to thicken up my eyebands.

To clarify with the thriantas, Jillian did have another litter of 3 outta Forrest but she doesnt have the mother instinct to look after them so I will only breed her again if I can foster the babies. Carmen had a litter a couple weeks ago and some are wondering why there all of a sudden dying. I think whats going on, and this is common..is carmen's immune system cant fight anything when shes in motherly mode so shes caught a cold (not snuffles!!) and its gone right to the babies. I have her on double antibiotics so shes ok but the babies are not doing as well. Ive lost a baby every 6 days now with another about to die. It totally sucks! But ya with Carmen it must be a genetic thing cause shes always been healthy otherwise. So she will be for sale to a pet home along with any babies that are left at 8 weeks old. Because I only have a pair of thriantas left I might sell Forrest to an approved home, he is 3 years old but gorgous type and very friendly personality. Jillian will stay here forever. :P

So ya I will have plenty for sale in a few months but if anyone is interested in hotots, they better email me asap because my waiting list is filling up VERY fast. There is already a backlog of about 3 litters already! Unreal little guys! They are so friendly though haha. So let me know!
I will try to blog again when I get some hotot litters or anything interesting happens! Cyah!

Valleyview & Dawson Results

Ok So I havent posted in a while..once again...sorry!!!

Ok so the Valleyview and Dawson Creek fall fairs have already past..results!
I was in charge of the Dawson Creek fall fair and we had quite the turnout in rabbits! We had so many rabbits we ended up moving to the petting zoo barn and taking that over haha. We had over 55 rabbits attending and during the fun judging, there was 28 rabbits entered. Man it took awhile to judge! What a great fun time! I also "liquidated" some of the rabbits that I had been trying to sell for a few months now, they all went to loving homes. Winter who was outta my original fuzzy line had 4 chances at babies and kept having dead kits, witnessing her kindle the last time I noticed her pelvic bone wasnt wide enough for babies to pass so she went to a pet home in Valleyview! Kyoko, Jasper (rescue I recieved) and Daisy (French lop didnt make weight and didnt have body type I wanted) all went to pet homes the first day of the Dawson Creek Fair. I was AMAZED at how many people waited the whole year to purchase a rabbit at the fair..just wow! Anyways it was a great time, lots of breeders to talk to and just hang out and enjoy!
On Valleyview show, Forrest blew his coat 3 days before the show and was pulled out and another new breeder with thriantas didnt show so I just had Jillian to show, the judges loved her type and color, great animal all commented. I showed 3 of my new breed..hotots!...Teagan, Kiera & Maddy. It was more of a learning experience and realized all 4 of my jrs were seriously lacking in eyebands and 3/4 were looking a bit pinched in the HQ. Something I needed to work on majorly. Kathy M had brought a few hotots with her and took breed which was fine, what a gorgous jr doe! I ended up taking home the BOS jr buck she had brought, Colton! His father happens to be Ready Teddy, gorgous buck! Quite a few wins on him. She had also brought me a registered broodie, Aly to get some nice babies with cleaner eyebands and nicer eyes. In trade I gave her Maddy who she needed to get thicker eyebands. I also showed my little holland Blue grandson BJ and he placed 2/6! Not too bad! As said only reason for going to the show was the experience and supporting the club! Congrats to all winners!

Stuck Between Breeds

As title goes, im stuck!! I have aquired some new cages thus I want to get another trio of something...

Backtracking first though, out of all the animals that were bred after Chestermere, only ONE kindled a live litter, that was Jillian and she didnt even make a nest, it just happened to be alive like the last baby. It was a vienna marked black outta a lionhead laura-ann has. Now we know for sure the lionhead carries bew haha. Other then that, I swear on everything I palpulated pregnant does. This time around im not gonna lay a finger on em!!! Bit mad because I wanted Blue fuzzies and got nothing. :/
Honestly I think Winter and Jillian just have issues kindling as I noticed palpating em after, there bellies are very stretched and kindling 1-2 babies per litter. This time around I bred Jillian to Forrest, Winter to Joel (last chance) and will be rebreeding Kyoko to Joel next week, her belly was very hard so i left her for a week. Carmen (the new thrianta doe) was bred to Forrest last week and will be checking and rebreeding if I have to.
For my pet updates, Blue hasnt been doing well lately, just old age. He has his good and bad days, sleeping the days away, poor old man. Its also hard to deal with him as when you take him out, he constantly wants to hump ur hand lol. I think hes going through menopause LOL. Boo is doing well as well as Zoey. Joel is same way, has his good and bad days, will be shaved in the next day or so to relieve some stress because of the heat and his long coat.
As for the frenchies, Roo is doing well and filling out some more and being his usual self. Unfortunately Wish is still in quarantine under a close eye. She barely survived the coccx treatment, lost a whole bunch of weight but noticed shes eating about a flake of hay a day and drinking well so should make it though. Because of this im not going to breed her and just find her a pet home. Its too hard on her body and by the time its ok to breed her again she will be too old and also winter time. Daisy the other frenchie is gaining weight like crazy, typical frenchie doe behaviour. I will be breeding her mid july for an august litter. Other then that not too much going on.

Now back to original post!! As I said, I have does that dont wanna breed or dont produce so my problem is, what do i do! Here are my options, first is get outta breeding and just stick to my pets. Second option I sell kay and winter to pet homes and focus on something else. Other options are what breed(s) do I go for. Only thing I know for sure is frenchies are out. I will have a trio MAX, most likely just a pair though, Roo and the Bubbles baby im getting soon. Now what breed do I breed. Options are shipping up a trio of thrianta from Washington (knowing I have a buck here thats 3.5 years old, a doe that will not breed and a doe without a pedigree lol), go and get a trio of hollands and hope they produce because thats why I sold out to begin with, or do I go with a totally different breed. What I was looking at was Dwarf Hotots but noticing there IMPOSSIBLE to find, I had thought Netherlands but from reading, there temperments seem to be perty bad.
Theres my situation, as far as im concerned one of the main points here is it MUST produce live babies. Im sick of seeing dead babies or constant non kindle does, been over 2 years now and about 20 litters. Im giving this one last shot, if the new stock I just brought up doesnt produce, im selling most and keeping my few pets. Hopefully saying this will do something lol.

And for people who check my site regularly, I will be moving to my own house next weekend, located in Clairmont (im not saying where though). The bunnies will be moved in about 2-3 weeks depending on how much work I will have. They will be housed in a shed of course! It already has siding and shingles, just needs to be insulated and custom built shelves for my cages and some light and good to go!! They may even get an air conditioner...LOL. Im very excited, I miss my buns very much and cant wait to bring them home!! :P My place will be open to people who would like to visit then, but phone or email me first please!

New Beginning

Ok So last post said I was selling outta fuzzies, they are now sold and have gone to Washington to a friend of mine who has some of my other old fuzzy lop stock. Good luck! As for the selling out part, im still breeding fuzzies, just the odd litter though. Kyoko is confirmed bred to Matthew, ive been trying to do this breeding for almost a year now because im guaranteed to get a blue and/or blue tortoise, yay! I will be keeping a couple outta this litter of course. :P
As for what I will be breeding, I have already picked up my new stock from BC and in the process of breeding them already....ready....
I picked up a trio of thriantas on southern island.
For some reason one of the does is pregnant and I do not know when shes due or what shes bred to. Otherwise shes a young gal with super dark coloring on body and belly, just needs better head, ear and body type. She has no name so i need to think of one. :P
The buck I got is originally from Bramblehedge rabbitry. Hes an older guy but wow he has bone, head and ear no problem and a longer type of coat. He is lacking in color and some nail issues so breeding him to that doe and Jillian should fix it, if not ill find another buck.
I also picked up a super old thrianta doe who had just come off a litter at over 5 years old, poor thing. Shes in terrible condition and in quarantine for a while while she recovers from various stuff. Once she gets better she will be available to a pet home, the most mellow rabbit ive ever seen, she sleeps in your lap all the time haha.

I got Sapphire, an older br blue frenchie who is retired from breeding, will be staying at Laura-anns house as a house pet along with her English Lop buck.
Also Wish, an older proven female, shes now bred to Roo for a litter, she has thrown ALOT of rews when she was bred to Roos granddad so im expecting a bunch more haha. Not a bad typed gal.
I will also be getting the pol female outta bubbles, I was playing with the babies and wow they are gorgous! Its either going to be a broken opal or a broken blue steel. Either way gorgous babies!!
That is it so far...Jillian is confirmed bred to a lionhead haha. Red lionheads!! And Winter took to Ice Cube, yay!! Thats it for litters, not much breeding going on, just kinda cutting back and hanging out. :P

Got a few daycamps and daycares attending this summer as well as canada day. Oh and for breeders who look on here...

ON AUGUST 8-9 IN VALLEYVIEW THERE WILL BE THE FIRST EVER NORTHERN ALBERTA IN A LONG TIME....RABBIT SHOW!!! LOTS OF JUDGES AND HUNDREDS OF RABBITS WILL BE THERE. Anyone whos looking into getting into breeding, this show is for you! Lots of different and rare breeds to see and ways of showing unlike dogs and cats. :P

Its 50/50 if I will be attending this show or not, me and laura-ann have to fight about whos going to stay haha. Also the fact that I have taken charge of the rabbit display at the Dawson Fall Fair this year which happens to be the same weekend and also judging the mini show they have. So I must stay at the fairgrounds, but I might go to the show for a few hours anyways haha.

Fuzzy Herd Sellout

Ok So I said I would post more often and never did...haha.
Wetaskiwin was good, Matthew got Best of Best Opposites, judge really liked him. :P Rest blew there coats and ya...lol.
Yesterday was Easter Eggstravaganza at the park here in town, there was over 2000 kids..not including adults and others..bunnies had fun, turned out to be very warm and it was awesome! All the bunnies got handled and loved to bits haha. Will post pics sometime this week!
Ok as you saw on my home page and here, im selling outta my fuzzies. There are like 10 reasons to this. Im not selling out of rabbits. The reason im selling them is because mainly theres no market here, pet or show, these are such GORGOUS animals I feel bad for them, they constinantly get BOBO, RIS and even BIS. I KNOW there nice quality. When I get babies which I know will be nice quality, I dont want to cull them all and keep one from each litter because I cannot sell them. Also the fact of they are not at my house and I visit every 3 weeks or so, so its not fair for them, only some need to be brushed but when I get babies I will have like no time. Also the fact that they all come from the warm coast and are not used to this weather, which is why I cannot seem to get any babies or anything bred. I figure if they went back down south they would breed no problem. I honestly love these guys to bits, they all come to the front of there cages and want to be loved, giving me kisses all the time. lol. My only real problem is Maya and Violet. They have NEVER been apart aside from litters which is like 2 months. There almost 2 years old now. Last time they were apart Maya stopped eating and kept pacing in her cage, seeing Violet beside her. I want these guys to go to the same home where they can be together. lol. So ya if ur interested let me know, these guys are gorgous animals and deserve a good home where they can be shown and bred well. I am willing to ship, also driving down to the coast this summer or earlier so could figure something, theres also people driving from here to coast all the time so shouldnt be a problem.
For what I will breed, I want a trio of Thrianta and another holland and a pair of something small which I dunno yet just to experiment but mainly will be Thrianta and the Hollands. Soooo ya! Happy Easter :P

Longest Blog Ever I Swear! Been too long..

Ok so its been like what 6 months now or so? Wow VERY sad :S I have just been super busy lately but now have time to write my brains out! Happy New Year!
Umm lots has happened now, I ended up moving out of the house I was in due to increased drug activity in the area..house was broken into few times..etc..etc. Sold most of my furniture and other stuff and moved back to my moms at her new place. She would not allow the rabbits so I forceable ended up sending them to my friends place. I now live in the basement with a bed and couch LOL. Sad compared to where I was, but hey things happen.
After that happened I came up with a plan, I would become a medic and save up enough money to live in a house in a quiet neighbourhood with no troubles. So took my course and few weeks later off I went, I work from couple days to 3 or 4 weeks at a time now. Making lots to save up! Of course it has devistated me that I cannot see my animals for such a long period of time, I feel so bad and lonely! Sucks! Must sacrifice to gain I guess.

Ok ok enough about the bs! So thats the reason I havent been putting new pics on my site or updating much, busy and I can only see my bunnies like once a month AND its so cold out I do not feel like taking pics lol.
So with whos left, one by one ill talk about them! Will be long!

Before I begin, this is the first winter for 90% of my bunnies to be outside in the cold and im VERY surprised there doing sooo well! It does help there all on wire bottoms of course. :P

Ok begin with Blue! He is doing well, grew the biggest coat ive ever ever seen in his life. He is almost 6 years old and the cold doesnt seem to affect him..but he does have a nest of hay haha. Compared to my friends other older rabbits..she lost one 5 year old doe earlier and a couple more are sick, still younger then Blue. Im truly amazed, he is a fighter! Will be a housepet once I get moved again. Love him to bits!

Naomi, Kay and Zoey all grew extremely long gorgous coats for the winter but all are extremely fat lol. Because they have never seen such cold none are breeding, nobody wants to actually lol. Concidering the barn has no insulation and a tiny heater, I wouldnt want to either. :S

Maya has FINALLY grown her coat back since the August hair cut fest. :S She is now pure gorgousness and hopefully I can grand her now so I can breed her! Her sister Violets coat grew back 2 months later, after her last litter of 2, she is now changing color to perty much a black like her dad did at this age. Figure she is a true black with shading.

Lizzy..oh Lizzy..this doe a darn mess. What happened was I bred her at the Edmonton show to one of Hollys bucks just to get her bred because I did not have a buck at the time. (I was going to buy Martin as posted on my site but because I did not want a buck with weak shoulders as most of my does have weak shoulders.) Month later she never had babies but still felt preggers, I left her for 2 months, finally palpating and felt a retained kit. Last month it amazingly dissolved and she wanted to breed again. I said only if she wants to breed and I cant feel anything will I do it. So I bred her to Joel, she bred on her own, I didnt have to touch her. She was due on xmas, unfortunately she didnt have the litter, I figure its another retained kit so I will be petting her out now unfortunately once I get some antibiotics into her and make sure shes still eating and acting normal. I wanted babies out of her sooo bad because I put legs on her last year and wanted her to produce something for me like she has for Sylvia. Obviously she has had enough. :( Next time I see her I will decide what to do with her.

Matthew is doing awesome, grown into his adult coat without even having to pluck an inch of him! Thats the coat I want! No brushing even as a jr! Except he is a peepot lol. Gorgous buck, beautiful rise, head coming in, correct ear set and coat length, will be good to go!

Joel is not in the greatest shape right now, because of being moved too much, he was confined for a while to adjust but now doing better, He has more hay then most and has grown his coat back super fast after I cut out ALOT of mats after I got him. Boys. :P He is just as gorgous as Matthew and with 6 legs to his belt, nice addition to my herd and herd buck! Love his licky personality. :P

Ewok is the little chestnut buck on page outta Violet and the fuzzy holland Simon I had. I sold Simon to a pet home at dawson show because after I plucked him his coat came in 100% wooly which might happen with a fuzzy holland, genetics screw it all up. I decided why not and bred him to Violet for the fun of it and try and get Simons gorgous type mixed with Violets small size and deal with coat later. Unfortunately the result is Ewok. Daddys gorgous body and granddads HUGE head with extremely gorgous crown set and ear open/length. BUT he has daddys coat. Last week I had no choice but to pluck him and hope for the best. Will show as a jr at the show for comments. He is tiny though at 2.4 pounds at 4 months old and fully "equiped" already which is a first for me. :S Gorgous guy who I will use very carefully in my herd. VERY friendly to boot!

Lola is Ewoks little sister. She has moms personality, no problems being with other rabbits for company and loves to cuddle. She is THE tiniest fuzzy ive ever seen, she weighs in at 2.1 at 4 months old. Fits just outside the palm of ur hand! She has moms coat, I didnt have to pluck her, she already had her adult coat in at 4 months old. Didnt have to do anything! Easy care. :P She has a HUGE head for a doe and tiny tiny ears (right now are straight up because of cold :S) Nice body, should do excellent competing against the adults! Shoulda called her Pixie :P Not bad for a "why not" litter LOL.

Jillian my thrianta is doing well, friendly little bugger who loves her cuddles, I love her to bits! I will breed her eventually but she enjoys her life right now as a cuddlebug. Did I mention shes a fattie now lol. Weighs about 5.3 pounds.. Not bad for being bottle fed from birth lol. I love her coat as she never molts haha.

Roo my frenchie is doing good, I havent been able to get any pics of him because he never sits still and wants to kiss instead lol. He has one hell of a head now and gorgous ears as well as a developing body. He eats wayyy too much, u can fill his dish 5 times a day and still want more. :S Looks skinny right now because he just keeps eating and not gaining weight lol. Give him a sliver of hay and its gone next day. unreal! Going to reach 10 pound mark but not much more. Needs more width right now im my opinion but short overall! Will show him for fun at Wetaskiwin. :P He loves the girls so if u want to use my goofy boy let me know, he carries double agouti. :)

Think I got them all, Once the weather warms up I will be breeding all my girls except Maya & Violet. Will breed them and Lola after Wetaskiwin/Chestermere. I have ordered some cages just waiting for em and other things which are fun. :P 50/50 if im going to Wetaskiwin but for sure my rabbits are. Think thats about it...its like minus 35 right now with windchill of minus 47 this morning..my god.. :S Will post again when I think of something to say or forgot!

Aloha Show

Well I am back from Edmonton. Awesome show put on by 2 wonderful people..Sharin and Lisa, Great job!!
Now I had entered a few, I entered maya, violet, zoey, kay, lizzy and my thrianta jillian..for comments and learn more about the breed. The friday morning before our drive, I was loading carriers and pulled out maya and violet and almost fell over crying. See they have been living with a guinea pig for a couple months now and she never does anything..until now. Both my girls were chewed all the way down to there wool undercoat. That pig took off about 3.5 inches of hair on EACH rabbit. There coats were damn gorgous and now nothing. Had to hold back tears as it took 3 months to grow those coats out to even compete competitivly. So I almost killed that pig lol. Even when I got home, she chewed my french lop babies coat too..now I put her with the other two sows..enjoy u stupid pig!
Getting back to showing, because maya and violets coats were just destroyed they took 2nd last and last place all weekend, excellent comments on both though. Lizzy beat all my girls hands down all weekend, mainly because she was only one in full coat and not molting lol. She took BOB 3 times and a cute little sable point jr buck from gayle got BOB once and BOS rest of times. Lizzy now has 7 legs hahahah. Shes now officially retired. :P
Now I was showing Jillian my thrianta for fun and learn about the breed but unfortunately she was the only one entered so just got some nice comments. I love the breed because they keep condition stupidly well, she was in full coat, not molting like all the other rabbits. On first showing, I was taking her up to table and she spazzed and fell outta my arms, fell on floor. Poor baby cut her lip right open, took 4 hours to stop bleeding. Blood everywhere :S Her teeth were fine though! So I got some excellent comments on her including she has excellent DEEP red color needed for a thrianta and great body type. Kinda hard to explain when shes the only one on table though lol. Judges didnt talk much really :S. Had to ask questions and such.
So BIS comes, ive got Lizzy and Jillian on table, thinking theres much nicer rabbits on here then my two. First the mini rex gets BIS, im like cool. Next thing I hear Jillian got RIS. I almost fell over, didnt say too much after XD. They said she is a gorgous animal too haha. On Sunday Jillian got honor mention for BIS as well. Yay! The only thing that sucks is apparently only BIS animals get legs and not RIS :(. No legs for her, darn. Also because there was no other thrianta, I had nothing to breed to her so ended up breeding her to a tort dutch..he got BOB at show too haha. They are same size as thriantas and type so was best choice. Should be some WEIRD looking babies lol. I MIGHT look for a thrianta buck but im kinda doubting it for now. Maybe next year lol.
So I sold alot of babies that we could bring, all of the english lop/french lop babies. Oh the 2 blue bucks..they actually turned out to be fuzzy :S Im sure it was dad as mom is an english lop and ive never heard of el fuzzy babies before. So they were english lop/french fuzzy babies LOL. New breed! Also sold smudge, skittles and the pick of litter opal doe we brought to a new breeder. Sold Obsid to a pet home and Smoke doe and her litter and the br lilac steel buck and lilac steel doe to crystal pushee. Brought the 2 baby guinea pigs and they sold very quick to a pet home. The french lop adult does went to sarah mccrea and nettie (el doe) and 2 french lop babies went to another new breeder. I got an opal buck french lop from crystal and the last french lop baby doe are going to another new breeder in town later today. I think thats it LOL. I swear I could have sold everything else if I had brought them to show..darn lol.
Now some are wondering why Martin and tort buck are off page..I had a look at Martin at show and didnt like what I seen basically put..pinched shoulders :S .....so I bred him to Lizzy just because and didnt take him. I had a look at the tort buck and he looks to have tight shoulders as well so selling him as pet. I was desperate for a buck so kindly asked gayle if she had anything. I ended up taking a buck she was going to keep, a little charlie?? br blue tort buck, 3 months old. Took couple hours brushing him out but now hes fine. Bucky temperment, wants head rubs haha. Ok body, needs wider shoulder and HQ but hes still young..nice coat though. Dad is a rew that got BIS youth last year and mom is a br sable point with 4 legs, yay! Thanks gayle, love ya!!
I also bred kay to iggy again..iggy ended up getting 3 legs at show for a total of 4 legs..wow..so should be some AWESOME holland babies..or even fuzzy..I dont care LOL.
So for whats left for sale, it should be on the for sale page..I have 3 mini lop baby does, the br tort holland doe (btw all those fuzzy babies I got, they all turned out to be hollands so good for pet people. :P), 3 tort holland bucks, 3 harlie bucks and 1 harlie doe, an adult pig, 3 opal mini rex bucks..they have such nice temperments too..I also am selling Simon, his dad got a few legs at show, HUGE head on him! I figured he could be getting chewed by the pigs but his coat is still going to be wool only so breeding him to a couple does and selling as pet. Lovely temperment! Also selling Cobalt as I do not wish to breed hollands and I would like more room for fuzzy lop jrs with my short cage space. She is for sale to a pet or brood home. Very nice temperment on her as well. Well all my rabbits have good temperments LOL. They are handled everyday and kids come over and play so they just love attention. :P
So ya, I will be heading up to the dawson creek show..POSSIBLY tomorrow..they are having a tiny rabbit show and entries are allowed tomorrow and im not driving all the way there to enter a few rabbits..if not then friday. Starts at 7:30 this judging friday morning..eww. Going to enter some babies and Blue! And a couple fuzzies. Just for fun. :P Bringing basically everything I have because I am not driving back that nite and its going to be/has been stupidly hot. Come check me out and my for sale animals!
This morning I moved everything out of the shed into the grass beside the shed in the shade..the shed was getting a little too hot yesterday...even with fans and doors open..suppost to be hotter today so ya id better do that instead..
That is it, Ive heard talks about a fall show in spruce grove..im hoping it happens!!
Going to breed Maya and Violet to Simon today..will be my last batch of babies for a while..give these does a break. So ill keep checking back! Cyah in Dawson!

Major Blow

Now that ive kinda gotten my head around it, figure I would post. Few days ago I went out to feed the rabbits, I noticed my old baby mocha was moving funny in the cage, I pulled him out and he went limp. Needless to say he died a couple hours later from old age. Yes its a major blow to my rabbitry and myself as he was my very first fuzzy and out of my original 4 I kept as pets. Now I only have 2 left, my fav baby rockette and good old blue. It just makes u think, they do not last forever. So sad though. Mocha will be greatly missed for his mellow temperment and lazy sleeping all day..lol. Loved being in retirement thats for sure. I do have his daughter Zoey who is also up there in age too but lots of his relatives are around so he is not lost for his line. He was a great granddad to some babies which is truely amazing. He was a sweetie and I will miss him alot. RIP Mocha

More Rabbits????

Ok I havent posted in forever, and I know people are wondering why on earth do u have so many rabbits!
Ok last week I was talking to Janine, shes been working 3/4 weeks outta month doing camp work. She told me she was going to sell out because no time and the person who was going to look after them is going to camp. I agreed to keep the rabbits at my house until the aloha show next month. So yes I have lots of breeds now and babies coming out of my ears! Janine just so happened to breed all the does before she left the first time lol. Ok breeds..

French lops- I got emerald and squirrely (4 legs wow!), the blue buck went to laura-ann because hes quite nice now. :P Squirrely happened to have a litter with her outta that buck. I got 4 babies, a chin doe, rew buck and 2 blue chin does. This litter is just amazing, I havent seen babies so nice before, even looking at pics! Huge bucky heads on all of them, large size and beautiful cobby bodies. ears were also down at barely 3 weeks old! Unfortunately one blue chin is missing part of an ear and the other blue chin has a cut on her cheek. She is pick of litter with width and depth and overall size and bone. Just a very nice doe. For that and her color, I am keeping her haha. Hopefully her cheek isnt too bad so she can be shown! I have a fenced yard so dont see why not! 2nd pick, very close is the rew buck. He is a sweetie, I love rews, was deciding between him and her but I prefer a doe so I can breed and he is a TAD long but he has a nicer bum then the sister. All sooo nice! Litter is for sale.

Mini lops- I got a few rabbits more this time, a velotta buck with 9 legs, a lilac steel buck and various colored does. They are interesting thats for sure. Some are sweet but all are excellent moms! I have two litters right now outta them. Smudge and Obsidian have 6 babies, about 10 days old, huge haha. 3 solid opals, a broken opal (i personally love that one), a lilac steel and a broken lilac steel. The other litter this morning which I didnt know the doe was preggers until the day after i got them, she was pulling hair in her cage lol. Needless to say we got more babies! 7 babies, some shadeds and seen a couple opals. She was bred to keaton im told. So these guys are going to be nice!
I had mentioned on my site about blue getting in with a mini lop. The first night they were here, I had to bring the moms inside the barn so blue went outside. These cages work by 2 cages with a piece of wire in middle and enough room for feeder. Guess old blue wanted a gal and somehow got through to the other side to Pearl. Its 50/50 if she caught because she is older and much bigger then him. Who knows!

Also have an english lop doe with a litter of 6 outta the blue french lop. She is a sweetie and loves to run in the yard. Her babies are definately funky though! Ears are going to be everywhere lol. I have 2 blacks, 2 fawns and 2 blues in the litter. Most look like bucks too. All are available including mom!

Regarding my babies, cobalt had her litter a few days ago, a pink peanut, a blue and a blue tort. This morning I noticed she wasnt feeding them much so I did a switch and gave her 2 mini lop babies and put her babies with Smoke as she is a very good mom. cant put them all together because the hollands are way too small compared to those minis lol. Hopefully they make it, cause there VERY nice already, tiny tiny tiny ears! and definately the smallest hollands ive seen yet!

The other older fuzzy lop crosses are almost ready to go, hanging out getting bigger, there not too bad, at least I know naomi can produce her body. Will have somewhat long coats but not too much. Definately cute though! Decided to keep the no ears buck to replace Simon as his coat is as u would say..screwed up. He was plucked over a month ago and his hair isnt growing and for some ODD reason its like 100% wool and curly :S My new herd buck will have just as nice body has him so not a major deal. I just do not need that wool into my breeding program. I believe in having more guard hairs then wool because its just easier to brush period.

In other babies, I have 5 harlequins about 6 or 7 weeks old. Laura-ann took the harlies to breed and keep for Janine when she gets back into breeding. These guys do not have proper splits so will be petted out. Cute though! very curious! Also when Janines rabbits got here, had a loud surprise lol. I had 3 mini rex bucks from Laura-ann and 3 guinea pigs, all to be sold as pets. Theres a coronet adult sow and 2 babies outta a coronet and dad is unknown lol. Theres a crested and a satin peruvian. His coat just feels VERY weird and silky, gorgous markings but would be DQ'd. Think thats it, the mini rex are just so cute and love to lick ur fingers!

Now that we have gone through everyone, show news! Regarding to whom im showing, Lizzy is in full show coat right now, just a gorgous doe! Maya has also made a major turn around, her coat has grown in, just freaking gorgous doe! Will be showing, also one of the judges for aloha is Scott, who gave her RIS at wetaskiwin! He said she will have lots of winnings! and to top it off, Zoey is looking underweight right now so will be showing her as well! Honestly its 50/50 who would get class as all does have good and bad points. Cant wait! Also if Holly is showing my new herd buck, this could be quite the class! Unfortunately I will be the only one showing fuzzies once again so will be spliting the entries with Janine to make sure i get at least a BOB leg. 4 shows should do it! So excited! Get my new herd buck and excellent competition between my own stock! I will also be bringing any rabbits that do now sell now to sell at show, also I am not firm on any rabbit, just email me and we can make a deal!

Babies are here! Moved too!

Well since I havent posted and finally got internet access last week, i figure i better post a blog with updates! Letting everyone know i DID NOT plan to move the same week I had litters due, it just happened to be that way!

Moving- Well that was one crazy week getting everything packed and ready to go. Moved on the 30th and the bunnies were packed that night and brought over. This place is awesome though! 4 bedrooms and lots of rooms for people to roam. Basically have a few roomies to help pay for rent. I have a HUGE fenced backyard with 2..yes 2! sheds which is just awesome! Even a few trees around! Unfortunately the sheds are not insulated but I already have a spot for them in the utility room for them in the winter! The shed/barn there in right now is painted with the inside having a couple shelves and such. I will of course be getting brand new cages this summer so work isnt so bad! Its got lighting and a fan in there right now to keep them cool. It works!

Litters- *warning, major detail and ranting!* I FINALLY got some babies in my rabbitry after over a year! Explaining..I had Maya due on the mon, she kindled on the wed, DOAs and a peanut and one live one which I took because its just one baby and no point in raising. I raised it for over a week until another litter. The next overdue litter was Fri morning (day of moving!) having two small DOAs in her box. Zoey by this time is overdue too lol. I finally moved the rabbits fri nite into the basement, dark and quiet..and the expecting 2 moms into cages with towels, and rest of rabbits and pigs into carriers. Sat morning while feeding buns I found a dead baby under violet, all stretched so she must have had a hard time. Sun morning I found another dead baby under violet and unbelieveably dead baby cavies in with the pigs. All stillborn. I had NO idea whoever it was, was preggers, had 3 b/w somethings. Both sows were talking alot too after that. Mon morning found another dead baby under Violet (all stretched and already dead) which wa sad. But I did have one good surprise that Zoey had finally kindled 4 sable points, they were already furred though. She freaked out though and ended up scattering them but I managed to save one. On wed Naomi finally had her litter and actually turned out to be a good mom except she overcleaned them lol. One has no ears and another has one ear LOL.
So in total! I ended up with a br siamese/smoke doe out of Maya, a HUGE sable point buck with a HUGE head out of Zoey and 4 little torts out of Naomi. Of course all of these rabbits are not purebred being a holland x fuzzy cross. But otherwise still showable if any are just cant register. Funny thing, ranting..Naomis babies are very odd looking as I have never seen babies with basically no necks, there heads are right on shoulders and all are VERY stocky and wide. Most likely what fuzzies are suppost to look like lol. I have been told by Janine that Kay had a DOA litter unfortunately but lost almost all her hair so no show for her lol.
I have rebred 3 does, Maya, Violet and Cobalt, all bred to my buck Blue. Only reason is because Maya and Violet are doing a coat change and so no point in showing. With Cobalt, I MIGHT have her for sale after her litter with Blue because I will be VERY short cage space for winter. I just want a blue doe out of her lol. I will also be borrowing a BEAUTIFUL tsw peruvian boar from Laura-ann who is out of Dillons lines to use with all 3 of my gals in a couple of weeks!

Simon was plucked a couple days ago, easiest fuzzy EVER done, his coat came out perfect and looks like he is perfectly shaved :P Hopefully it grows in fast enough for the show! Going to be a NICE bun! I will be trying to get Zoey and Naomi to show because they had litters and lost alot of there "fat" so are finally underweight enough to show..and register.. :P Will also be showing Lizzy since she hasnt had a litter and is in good shape.

Ok, who is this mystery buck im getting..well..I will finally put him on my site tonite now that I have gotten confirmation from the breeder that he is for sure coming here in Aug!

Also in new buns, I will be getting a few new and old buns this fall from Washington. Hopefully some blues to start my new dilute line! I am also getting back my old doe Snowbell who is out of some pointed whites. She will be used to lighten up the sable points and get that beautiful clean coat as well as produce maybe a pointed fuzzy or two! :)

Last to mention, I will be attending Canada Day on July 1st in the park with bunnies, pigs and babies! I hopefully will also be attending some fairs this summer so look out!

Litters are Coming

Well havent posted in a while so better start. I dunno if ive said anything but I am moving at the end of the month to an actual house..lol. It has a huge shed/barn thingie and nice backyard as well as a huge inside of the house. Im excited! :P
One problem though..all the does are due the day before and day after I move LOL. So im not sure what to do with that. But they will be moved first before anything else.
So wondering who took eh? How about all! Except Jillian of course, I knew she was too young to breed at the time. I knew violet and zoey took..as well as kyoto who is at janines..but wasnt sure about maya because I had to force breed her lol. Well for past week ive been wondering because she all of a sudden calmed WAYYY down, not doing laps in cage like shes on drugs, but actually sleeping and acting normal lol. Her belly was very hard though, so hard I couldnt get my hand to palpulate her. Last nite I tried again and yep, i felt live ones! I cant believe that worked haha. Shes bred to a broken sable point holland buck from Barb Adams, owned by Lauraann and actually took one but was also tried with a REW buck from Chris..so we shall see what happens! I am also excited because I am trying an experiement ive seen before with fuzzies, breeding two does that live together and raising babies together, Violet and Maya have been together all there lives to perfect to try, they love eachother and dont fight even right now being pregnant..there very very mellow right now actually LOL. So this experiment should go well! I always have a backup mom, zoey..so incase something happens.

Cobalt update 2, she is continuing to improve and she has an actual scab on her head now, after three times trying to close it..and hair is starting to grow back. Unfortunately she will never be able to be shown again because the scab will have no hair and its a perty big chunk lol. Ive attempted to breed her 2 times to Blue with no success, but I notice she does lift when I touch her bottom so wondering if she doesnt like him. :S Will try again and see what happens. I really like to have some Cobalt babies for sale at Aug show. Only thing I hope for is not having too many babies per doe LOL. Zoey I know will have alot because her last litter was 9 babies but the two siblings I havent a clue lol.
Naomi is rebred again due a few days after the others, I was SOOO sad about her last litter, how it happened was she made a nest in the box and everything but after her due date, I never saw any babies, when I was sweeping the floor I noticed a baby on the edge of her cage, a blue! All fed and everything but must have somehow fell out and froze, it had a huge head too lol. A couple days later I was cleaning cages, and noticed something sticking out underneath zoeys cage, of course it was a baby, froze, trying to hide under the cage, it was a blue tort. This time Naomi will be in a solid bottom cage with baby wire to make sure doesnt happen again!
Other then that, all buns are doing well, quite a few events coming up next month, very very busy 3 weeks! Moving, litters, events, etc, etc.
Oh forgot to mention, ive acquired a few more pigs LOL. I have two peruvian sows coming from Janine..eventually when I drive up there lol..a R/W and a mmTSW, one is from Kim, other is from Dillon. She is only keeping Americans and since Sophia is doing so well with Simon, I would like to try more, breed also..for fun of course! They dont need cages because they live with my rabbits so its not a problem. Should be fun! I will post later before I move so cyah!

Chestermere Results/Litters

Hey all, had a good time at show, seeing old friends and new faces. Much fun! Came home with a few buns and a pig..if u have noticed lol.
Anyways on to results!
I had all 4 of my sr does in the class as well as Nathan and Sugar (my breeding Nova/Mocha) just in case one was DQd. Well first 2 shows, Nathan and Sugar were DQd so no legs. :(
Last show, Nathan was DQd but Sugar took breed (btw shes a DAMN NICE DOE) for her last leg and her GC yay! So not too bad there!
As seen on my buck page, Nathan is gone, he had way too many problems and I didnt want that in my herd..not mentioning..so I was like great..no bucks. I was panicing so at the show, I bred basically everything I had to anything to get a litter and get them proven since I have no bucks..Blue is ok but old ya know lol. So Maya is bred to a br sable point buck and Violet is bred to maybe Nathan, a rew and Blue XD.
Now ya wonder why theres a fuzzy holland on my page..funny story! I had seen a pair of fuzzies before for sale, looked pet to me, the one was sold and the little buck was still in the cage. After I sold Nathan, I was like I need a buck! So I was like why not and started to head for that cage. I see Holly hovering over it, she takes him out and she says and I quote "If u do not take this little guy home your stupid!" So I actually took him out and typed him and holy crap he actually is ONE NICE BUCK LOL! BEAUTIFUL topline, cobby and round, nice bum and a nice bucky head! AND hes a chestnut!! I want to work with agoutis and dilutes for my goals..AND he carries dilute to boot!!! Can u say opal fuzzies...lol! So needless to say he was sold! Will be a great breeding buck when older and he is related to Cobalt on dads side!
Ok now another story..I was clerking one of the tables and while waiting for harlies to be judged, I saw red rabbits..im like OMFG, I actually ran from the table and had a look. Thriantas from Judy, whole herd for sale. I couldnt stand it haha. Honestly ive been waiting about 2 years for once of these guys but have always been too hard to get or just stupidly expensive! So after clerking I went straight over to the table and asked about em, Kaycee was there and didnt want to give em up so im like ok what about the ones down there for sale, there pets? One buck and one doe. I was already planning on doe only so took her out and yes she was sold. XD I love her to bits, there a VERY interesting breed, not for selling to public..more meat buns..they have one hell of a personality, if they dont like something she will tell ya and so on. Very smart and they know it. lol She isnt too bad for pet, very very dark red and pure red belly, just lacks in overall type..weight..she wasnt fed very much as baby thats why. Still a cutie!
And finally..the pig..lol. Janine had brought a bunch of pigs for sale, and I couldnt help myself have had to have one XD. As long as its quiet of course. So I got pick of litter sow, TSW silkie, excellent show sow, markings and will show in August.

So thats my herd so far. I got the twins bred, I bred Kyoto to Iggy before he left because they both have ELS in lines so maybe beautiful holland babies XD. Also bred Zoey to Blue yesterday as backup incase one of these does decides not to be a good mom.
Oh and wondering about Jillian, the day before the show, they were being fed and her brother decided to jump the divider and have fun with her and apparently he did make a noise, so possibly she is bred too..lol. I think thats it.
For Cobalt, she is doing ok, her stitches must have come out during the weekend while I was away so had to stitch her head back together again, will not be bred for at least another week or two. Shes hanging in there though! Thats it for now, another post in a sec!

Panic Yet?

Quick blog and updates...well this very much sucks ALOT lol. Stupid things keep popping up and im getting NO time to get stuff done! lol Lets see..clean cages, carriers, clean cat and dog, buy crap and finally get buns ready for chestermere this weekend! yay! lol did i mention i work 10-6 all week! yay! haha Ill get it done. :P i hope..LOL. Janine and Laura-ann are coming on thurs too..

in other news! This is very sad news btw. As some had seen, one of my rabbits got hurt. Basically I was switching rabbits into different cages and while holding Cobalt, Naomi grabbed Cobalts head and wouldnt let go. :S I had to go to work so just left em be. I got home to find Cobalt with a massive hole..yes hole..right between her eyes about half an inch across. Basically like someone took a chunk outta there, skin and scalp..could see muscle and whatnot..just darn gross!! So bought some meds yesterday for her, but finally realized theres no way this wound is gonna heal itself. Running to the drug store, bought needle and thread and yes..stitched the poor does head together. She is not in as much pain anymore..on meds too..and started to drink again this morning thank god. I am SOOOOO mad at that doe, it took me 2 whole months to get Cobalt back into show condition to show her and try and get her last leg. Now ive got a doe with a bald head and stitches between her eyes lol. I will be delaying her breeding now as well.
So as for Naomi, I will be getting a replacement from her..baby from Nathan when I breed her..and I will be culling the doe. She has the worst temperment I have seen to date, even after being held so many times. I guess she wasnt held as a baby alot. :S
So now that is out of the way, on to showing! Chestermere is this sat, im dying to go haha. I will be showing Violet, Maya, Nathan and Lizzy and Janine will be showing Kyoto as well as Laura-ann will be showing Sugar (NovaXMocha) so we shall have a full fuzzy class! Basically competing against myself haha. There are 3 open shows as well as I sponsored a specialty fuzzy lop class too. Quad show! For rabbits, ive been told Nathan isnt in the best coat right now but Liz looks not too bad. For my guys, I pulled Maya out last nite and her coat is a mess!! Wanting to be bred so bad lol. Violet honestly is the nicer of the two, beautiful full adult coat, nice body and FAT! haha. I am picking up 2 new carriers and sold my 2 carriers I have here..I do not need them..and find whatever else I see. LOL So anyways ill keep updated..

Fuzzy Coats

Ok well some wonder, thats a long haired breed meaning LOTS of brushing. Pet owners look away because of that and the "high maintenence" they seem to have. In honest to god truth, these guys are actually very very very easy to brush and maintain. It all depends on the bloodline and how wooly the coat may get and/or how u brush it. Its scary because u can tell by looking at the rabbit how much brushing has been done!

Juniors-

They can be quite the problem unfortunately and its impossible to solve. The best way is to brush everyday and make sure that coat isnt matted or u will have to shave it all off! Its also a great way to teach it to learn to sit still while being brushed!

Young Seniors-

I like to "pluck" the baby hair out at about 4-5 months old to let the new adult coat grow in. I have seen people who do not pluck coats and end up with very matty rabbits or a 70/30 mix of wool and adult fur. The standard calls for a mature coat with 50/50 adult fur and wool.

Seniors-

Seniors are the best ones, never any brushing..I brush about once a week. The coat rolls on its own and spread apart enough it doesnt need brushing. Just have to watch for dewlaps and bums on the does and bums on the boys as that is wool and can mat more easily.

Unmatting a Coat-

Well the best way to unmat it is with ur hands! Grab the knot in half and pull gently but with enough force to pull it apart. Then grab another part and pull it apart, continue until its just a ball of hair. With a pin brush (flat surface with "pins") gently pull on the hair until the mat comes out. If u just cut the mat or try to brush it out, u may hurt the rabbit, get a smaller mat onto the skin and/or leave a large bald spot..lol.

Molting-

Like any rabbit, fuzzies do indeed molt 1-2 times a year, so your best bet like any rabbit is to brush everyday until all the loose hair is out, lightly "plucking" helps to get it out faster too. Most molting occurs at springtime when the air is warmer and they do not need there winter double coats.

Blowers-

Yes it is possible to use a blower, can be MUCH easier on jrs and gets rid of all loose hair, they are basically angoras after all. :P Honestly myself I do not use one I do not have a safe "blowing" area to keep the hair to minimum.

As stated before, it all depends on the bloodline and some fuzzies are just born with more wool even as adults, breeding to a holland can loosen the wool and create a good 50/50 mix of hair and wool.

In my breeding, If requested or I may do so anyways..I will keep jrs until that 4-5 month stage to pluck the coat and make sure no mats will be a problem for new owners.

Well srry for not posting! Yes the easter event went very well lol. Next year im definately having volunteers..I had soo many people looking at one point I couldnt keep track of all rabbits! I didnt get any pics of anything really..just practicing typing my guys haha. Zoey has definately made a turn around thought, FINALLY after 3 years she loves attention and doesnt worry about food lol. Blue on the other hand seems to be going through menopause, buck style! lol

So first of all..litters..some are wondering whats going on with them. Ive tried and tried to get Naomi bred and she even took BUT she isnt catching..meaning only one thing..Blue is sterile..ugg..suggesting Blue and his menopause haha. Hes gone crazy lol. I will attempt to breed him to Cobalt though for one last chance. Soooo I cant even breed anything until after Chestermere since im showing anything and everything that makes weight because nobody else is entering fuzzies..lol. Lets just say Nathan has ALOT of girls waiting..lol.

I do on the other hand have a special guest in my barn right now..Cutie Patootie's Iggy (Br black holland buck with 2 legs) is staying with me currently from Janines place. He is the ultimate cutie, was butt ugly as a baby but now drop dead gorgous! He is here to get into shape for Chestermere to earn his last leg..Cobalt is same way..needs one more leg too! Hopefully these guys can pull it off!

What I mentioned before about Chestermere..yes ive been told ill be the only breeder going which is really going to suck..I have to compete against myself and worse I have to show Kyoto or else I cant even get a leg..luckily she isnt in condition right now haha. I strongly believe in 3 legs and ur done as whats the point of continuing...other rabbits need a turn at winning so they earn there rights too! If luck has it, Im hoping Maya is granded so I can get her into breeding and not have to show her again as she REALLY wants to be a mom right now haha. Theres a chance though..we have a triple open show AS WELL AS I sponsored a speciality (finding out after no breeders are coming lol) so 4 chances to get something. :P

At the show im planning on registering a few buns and getting new supplies. If possible..I would like to show Naomi as she is almost at weight so would be nice for comments. :P

Other then that..boring as hell until these breedings happen and babies arrive. I should have a LOAD of babies available in June and ALOT of jrs to show in August so get on those lists!

Tomorrow Easter Event

Well im getting ready as much as I can..lol. Have to work in the morning because they are short staffed but will be at the park around 12pm. Should be a blast!! Hopefully its nice out too!!
Naomi is being a REAL brat lately. I honestly Ive never seen a fuzzy be so bad lol. She does laps all day in her cage and typical trying to bite and growl. Hopefully its just from her being preggers! Anyways thats about it, in case anyone is wondering, yes ill be breeding like 4 does after Chestermere (I want to show them first!). Lets see..CobaltxBlue, Maya & VioletxNathan and Zoey and/or NaomixNathan. Yes Nathan will have his hands full of girls! Unless I get another buck, it will stand like that. Im hoping for a HUGE range of colors. :P Oh and Kyoto will be bred to Janines holland buck Iggy soon too. Up to her when she gets a day off! lol.

Finally id like to point out events in GP this year. I am for sure attending the Easter Extravaganza at Muskiseepi Park in GP on March 22 from 1-4 but im sure ill be there at 12. I will be bringing all my rabbits as well as information on rabbits in general and fuzzy lops. Im up to 4 boards this time..lol. Educating the public on rabbits. I will also have 2 playpens out for them to run around. Too bad no babies this time :( But Maya and Violet are small enough they can pose like babies..lol. This event was HUGE last year with the lineups going out the door and around the corner. :P

I am looking for a couple volunteers to help out with my rabbits as its alot of work and I cannot talk to every single person on them. Id prefer if that person has experience with a rabbit but if not I can teach. Awesome experience! Looking for adults or kids! Please email me!

For other events, id like to attend some fairs in the summer, and maybe Canada Day or GP 50th celebrations?? We shall see. :P People LOVE the buns! Well thats it for now, I will post later when I can think of something to post! Gimmi a shout!

New Stuff!

Continuing on, I FINALLY did a new layout after months of nothingness..lol. I think it suits the mood of spring, which it has been fairly warm concidering its only march! I got new pics of the fuzzies as well as 2 beautiful fuzzies coming from Sylvia of Fuzzy Peach in April who are at Sarahs currently until she gets back from her trip..lucky pain! They will be flying out with Janines and Laura-anns french lops in April. As I only have one buck, I HOPEFULLY will be getting another buck at Chesteremere..Holly??? Email me and let me know!!!!!

Breeding wise..ugg..no luck at all! Naomi was preggers but after being 3 days late, she absorbed them..i swear I felt 3 in there..ugg. Anyways rebred her to Blue again but unfortunately he didnt do a good job so HOPEFULLY she did take..will find out soon. I tried to put Mocha in there first but he has NO interest in breeding anymore..sucks but what can u do. He would rather sit there and get head rubs then play with girls..lol. Thats what new bucks are for! Anyways the PLAN is to breed Maya and Violet (there in the same cage together..lol) as well as Cobalt (another story) after Chesteremere and Zoey, Kyoto and Lizzy around June/July for some Edmonton Show and fair babies! The later goal is to keep a buck outta Naomi..purebred..for a new herd buck! The rest I will have to see. I know that all these lines will cross very well and 3 rabbits are related anyways to the same sire..half or whatnot. Oh and I will be breeding Naomi and Kyoto (to a holland) in the fall. Kyotos genetics on her holland side are amazing so I HAVE to breed her to my Blue..haha. Thats the plan!

Ok..about Cobalt..LOL. Janine was selling most of her hollands a month ago and I had asked last summer if she sells Cobalt, I would want her for a perminant pet/breeding home. I LOVED the doe the second I saw her at VIEX a couple years ago. Not only for type but COLOR..lol. I will try to get some babies out of her..apparently she isnt producing very well but we will see! She is indoors now! Kinda trading for each rabbit, I will be giving Janine babies from her once I get some. I'd LOVE to grand the little bugger as well if I can get her back into condition! Thanks for the fuzzy coat feed mix..haha. Shes such a sweetie! I will get nice pics of her later once her hair grows back around her face as shes bald perty much..lol. But does she ever love to pose! Love her just like Rockette...there the same perty much!

For show news..Chesteremere is a month away and I will be showing a few animals. I WISH i had babies but my does want to be difficult! Anyways I will be bringing just about everyone because I would like to register almost all of them including Cobalt. Showing Maya, Violet (filler), Nathan if hes in coat..Cobalt if in coat..and Kyoto if there isnt enough fuzzies to show. Laura-ann is bringing Zoey's granddaughter Lacy..now Sugar..lol to show under BSD and Gayle is bringing a couple and more if needed. Janine will be showing Violet and/or Kyoto as fillers if there isnt enough for showing. Cant wait!!!

Final thing in this post, buying new cages..(and carriers and dishes later) sooonn so cant wait!

Ooooppppss and very very very sorry for not blogging lately!!! Ill post most of it as much as I can!
Wetaskiwin Show- Well that show was quite a blast, I went with Janine Hudson and her 2 munchkins with a car FULL of rabbits and pigs, and my dog...lol. We stayed with Helga in her motel room for both nites..umm..well for showing..(in detail..lol)

Before I go on, id like to explain a few things. As u have seen in my site and while showing, Janine Hudsons name is everywhere..lol. Janine and I are doing a co on these fuzzies as I cannot keep many at my house..its a townhouse DUH..she gets the boys and can breed whoever..with my permission..lol..and split it all up. Yes she is QUITE a drive away but its the best I can do! So for showing, I thought it was a good idea for Janine to enter the top two fuzzies..maya and kyoto.. under her kids name to enter in the youth show. That backfired and they were the only two that won..haha. So thats the reason behind the youth show and different names as winnings!
Anyways about showing..

Table A- Jeff's table!

Showed a few fuzzies, Kyoto took BOB and surpringly Violet beat her sister Maya. Roxy did ok in placings, totally blowing her coat on the way to the show..little brat. Funny thing..Jeff took her out and immediately said DQ for color..thinking I guess she was a torted tri..Helga just yells out "shes a broken tort!" Im sitting there not having a clue about mini rex and judging..lol. Jeff said she has an amazing body but just lacking in that head..duh..and blew her coat so condition of course!

Table B- Scott's Table!

I actually clerked scotts table for a period of the show which was quite fun! Anyways with fuzzies Maya kicked some butt getting BOB, beating her sister and Kyoto. The comments I got were AMAZING animal, gonna be one hell of a showstomper and will get her GC easily. Im like wow..honestly I thought..and still do..think that Violet is nicer then Maya cause she is wider in shoulders and HQ. But there both still young..lol. At BIS judging, im just sitting there watching cause I know Maya isnt going to get anything cause shes a jr and her shoulders are a mess. Someone could have knocked me over with a stick when I heard RIS went to her..lol. Scott told me after she would have gotten BIS if I had plucked her baby coat out!! Maybe next time..lol.

Table C- Jan's Table!

Well unfortunately I knew full well what was going to happen. I have judged under Jan ALOT of times and for some reason he does NOT like my animals. Needless to say and not that its a bad thing! Gayle..or Tracy..got BOB with a br black buck (ur bucks are the same I swear!) coughbfcough and Gayle got BOB with an amazing black doe. I LOVE her body! Great Open show!

Youth- Jeff's Table..again!

Unfortauntely I missed like all this show except BIS due to clerking the table beside me for specialties. I heard good comments on Maya thou but got to watch BIS. Which was very funny..im like whatever Kyoto has BOB yay..good enough for me..lol. But im standing behind with the judge so can see who he was watching..I noticed he was eyeing Kyoto..haha. Then yep..RIS goes to the fuzzy lop! WOOT! Great for her..,haha. and BOSB went to the REW fuzzy buck! Go fuzzies!!

Its a go!

Well the title says it all. Its a go for Wetaskiwin tomorrow. I am going with Janine in her TINY car..I wonder how many animals u can fit in there! Apparently there is 16 buns coming..hahaha. I am also bringing my dog cause there is nobody to babysit her at home too..haha. Soo ill be showing..Roxy in 2 shows and Maya, Violet (both jrs are molting >.<), Kyoto and Zoey. Both srs are definately in show coat! Naomi will be coming too..herd evaluation! Im so excited! Cant wait to see everyone! Been a year for me..ouch..lol. There is enough for at least BOB leg and possibly even BOS which is awesome!!
In regards to the other fuzzies coming. They will not be here till mid or end of March cause Air Canada doesnt ship till then and Westjet doesnt ship at all now so guess the breedings will have to wait! I dunno how Violet will think of it cause she REALLY wants to be bred..lol. Naomi is confirmed preggers so im curious what she will produce! First time litter..lol. All buns are good otherwise! Cyah at the show and ill post results when I get home!

New Fuzzies Came Early!

Well looks like I got my presents much sooner then expected! I got 4 beautiful gals a couple weeks ago from Kim/Cristina. Thank you! They are Naomi, Maya and Violet..siblings..and Kyoto. When they came off the plane after a 13 hour ride, I looked in the carriers and had the shock of my life. All my fuzzies ears were straight up..hahaha. Thankfully a few days later all there ears came down..must have been the cold. :P They are all doing well now and have quite the personalities!

Honestly ill tell u i REALLY dont like tort and here I am with 3 torts!!! Well what can u do eh..type is better then color..lol. Ill rundown the list quickly of each one..

Naomi- HUGE brood doe..my body doe..huge head and massive shoulders as well as a very funny personality! Bred to Blue already because she needed to be bred badly..or she was going to kill me..lol. She is 100% AK lines..remember Ari? (BIS youth 07) same lines!

Maya- Tiny little thing with a cute! little doe head and tiny ears. Shes the dominate one over her sister..always getting into trouble! Love her!

Violet- Sister to Maya, VERY opposite from her other then there size and cobbiness. I perfer this girl over body as she is much fuller and wider then her sister and has a much nicer head like her dad! Who knows though as both are still babies. :P Shy thing but warming up slowly!

Kyoto (K)- I know this gal was handled ALOT cause she doesnt seem to care about anything! lol I actually remember seeing her at VIEX a couple years ago when M&S just got into fuzzies. Shes a beautiful doe, cobby and very nice coat. Overall beautiful! Too bad theres holland in her ped. :( Can get some nice babies thou!

All 4 are very curious and surprisingly none have molted since getting here so looks like im good to go!

Some are wondering about Wetaskiwin..well its totally up in the air right now as to go or not. Money costs, etc, etc. Will be going with Janine if we do end up going. I will be showing Maya, Violet, Kyoto, Zoey and Roxy for fun.

I havent really made my mind up with Roxy, she is SUCH a SUCK and loves to just sit there and look at me all day which is so cute..haha. I will only sell her to the right home..youth?? But will be bringing to Wetaskiwin to show and find out how mini rex are shown! I know nothing about her type so will find out!

MAJOR pet peeve

Well all some may know, I breed the fuzzies again and as before, Im starting to notice that same problem I had before I stopped breeding. My pet peeve..

HOLLANDS BEING SHOWN/SOLD AS FUZZIES EVEN THOUGH THERE 100% HOLLANDS!

As u can tell, that REALLY bugs me! I hate going to a show, working my butt off to get some nice fuzzies from nice lines, purebred obviously and own generations, then some fuzzy knockoff comes in and tries to compete against purebreds. Yes I have definately seen some in my time, in either AB or BC. Also I am well aware fuzzies came from hollands but there was a few mixups in getting there but the point is there purebreds! They will always produce true well coated fuzzy lops going with the standard of a melon body and large head..showing no neck as the standard says as well as the 30 point wool coat, half wool half adult hair. If u wanna argue with me go ahead and post but the point is thats the worst thing about showing cause u work so hard and some knockoff comes in and tries to be shown. What a sad story. As far as Im concerned, they should either be sold as pets OR to fuzzy breeders in hopes of producing purebreds in the longrun. Yes I will admit also I had/are a couple fuzzies with holland in background but does it look like I show them? No because there bodies do not go well with the standard as hollands and fuzzies are actually TOTALLY different! Ok now that I am done ranting..majorly I might ad..lol.. I hope people understand the situation in my shoes when showing fuzzies and think about the next time they sell FUZZY hollands. Thanks for listening! New additions!

Well as seen on my site we have some new additions coming! 4 does will be coming from Cristina in BC at the end of Jan possible??? And a jr buck and sr doe are coming from Sylvia also in BC at the end of feb. Nice eh! We got a good mix of lines, sizes, body types and of course colors! Dilute carrier and rew carriers..not bad! Ill update more later but for now, im flying to BC for a week to visit so ill blog later!

Not Much Going On

Well as the title says, there isnt much going on right now. Bunnies are happy and healthy, doing there own thing. One thing though is that is VERY cold out right now..currently its minus 35 :S
But there is a heater downstairs and so everyone is warm too..haha. Mocha is back in full coat now which I have not seen in a few years so new pics will be coming shortly! He really does look like Zoey. :P Zoey's coat is the best so far and im very excited to show her in Feb.
In the fuzzy news, looks like I might be getting more fuzzies then originally planned..haha. Possibly 1 buck as well as 3-4 does for myself depending on what is available as well as co-owning a pair with Janine Hudson. I really need to figure out which color I want to specialize in though! I love dilutes so maybe some blues. :P They will be coming up end of Jan or after the Wetaskiwin/VIRBA show in feb as they may be shipping quite a few other buns. :P I know for sure though that I will be picking up my first doe of my new breed at Wetaskiwin. I will only be having her as a pet/breeding/show animal as my only one for the breed as I would like to focus on the fuzzies. Believe me though..a holland doe or a mini rex doe is VERY tempting..haha. I would like to focus on #1 type and #2 size in the fuzzies and with the new ones coming, that will be easy to cross with my own line. Can u imagine a tiny fuzzy with Zoeys or Mochas head.. XD Thats my new project and I hope things will go well. I will be breeding quite a few does in feb so I can sell at Chestermere and the easter event I attend LOVES babies so its good for them too. So ill try to keep updated but there isnt much to report! When there is I will blog it. :P

Sad Day

Well today is a very sad day. If u noticed on my front page, yes Ty died. It was a long and heartthrob battle but I decided over the weekend that he would have to be put down. Long story short about a month ago he had got ahold of my arm and i ended up grabbing his head to get him off me, pulling his head so far back bruised/broke his neck and he just never recovered. He looked over but over a whike he was slowly starving from not eating and other signs such as wheezing so I had decided the best thing for him was to go up to bunny heaven. Im sure he got his girls up there. Rest in Peace little man!

The other buns are doing fine, they are all on my new feed mix..not telling...which will hopefully bring there coats in full condition. I will be showing Zoey and Roxy in Wetaskiwin now and breeding them after once I get my new stock in late Jan. Unfortunately now I need another buck as Ty was the one I was gonna use. Ill post more later

Well my site is almost up but im having trouble getting the new pics uploaded, hopefully when my computer cooperates!!! Stupid telus wireless internet and everyone else LEECHING off mine..
Anyways! More good news to report, I am on some wait lists for fuzzies which I will be getting in Feb, a few does and a buck..woot! I will be sharing these guys though..haha. Also looks like Snow will be returning next year after her short trip in the US. Seems nobody wants the doe really and so I had already planned to get her back, just not so soon..but what can u do. If u know anyone coming from the WA area to BC, let me know so I can get her to BC at least so to ship/fly down the get her up to my place again. I miss my baby!
Nothing much in other news though, buns are fine. Got my hay yesterday so the cages are FULL and I mean FULL of hay...haha. But they love it. :P Good bedding for the older buns. Other then that, buns happy and me going back to work tomorrow for a few days, it should be good! Happy Halloween!

New start?

Well, so I havent made a blog in a veeerryyy long time...not good! Well I will explain everything right now! Starting back at the end of Aug, I had 3 pets I brought home to sell around here since there was ALOT of inquires about buns. I sold the first 2 in a couple of days, with the mini rex doe left. A week later with no inquires about her, I took her out and started to play with her..the breed..type and characteristics of the breed. Doing a bit of research and stuff. :P Now she is staying here as a pet/breeding/fun showing animal to learn more about mini rex. Her full name is Talora's Roxy..just need to get pedigree then im good..haha. By my research, she is a very rare color...tortoise...but in this area, sure isnt! Love her to bits..like the breed, she sits very still in my lap and is CRAZY when let out..and knows when to behave. :P Im not sure how big she will get but from what I know, she is about 5 months old and currently weighing 3.2 pounds and she is definately smaller then Ty and more compact! Type wise I dont have a clue..lol..or know how to pose properly, anyone have an idea please email me, Id like to learn how!

Other bun related, My bunnies are doing well, Zoey's missing coat is growing back but is darker then the rest of her so she will be molting again soooon. Ty is a little turd though! Long story short..I think..he is in his middle teen years being a male..he became overly aggressive and protective of ANYTHING. He has severely bit me 3 times now unfortunately with the last time being the worst. In the end, I couldnt get him off me so i grabbed his jaws and pulled his head back. Even worse, I had pulled something in his spine when I grabbed him so he is now a gibble bun. Right now he doesnt have good balance in his hind end but hopefully he gets better. But BOY did he ever learn his lesson, now he will sit and wait for me to pick him up to put him in the pen and after when I take him out. He is behaving very well and he is doing fine. :P I really need new pics though but I got to wait until his coat grows out more cause he looks VERY pinched cause his coat is short in his midsection.

Now with the blog title...I have one hell of a surprise next year for myself. I will be breeding again..breeding zoey and roxy in early spring...AND a new breed addition will be added next feb/march. This is no ordinary breed, I just LOVE LOVE the color on em! I will have a pair but im not certain where from yet, depending on what goes on in everyone's litters! They will come from either Anne Ott or Kaycee Lunde. :) Hint hint...lol.

SO with that said, I am currently looking for any cages anyone has for sale so please email me!

Results!

Hey bloggers..lol. Been working all week once again, my next day off is mon thank goodness as im very tired. Because of this, I will be going to Fort St John (well Taylor but close enough :P) on mon to pick up my bunnies. I am so excited to see them again. :P I may also visit Janine at her place which is about an hour away. Ill be taking my camera too..lol. Get some pics of Lacy as well!

Result wise, I found out lots of people did very well this year at Edmonton! Janine came home with a few BOB and BOS along with a bunch of new animals. Laura-ann brought home some wins too! (im not certain on details yet till i visit..lol) My little fuzzy Ty was shown as well and did extremely well but unfortunately his ears gave him some problems..lol. I believe he got BOS or something like that at one show. Lacy..Tys sister...was shown as well but faulted on having no belly hair..lol...so didnt place as well as she could. I am quite pleased with the results and again it was so unforunate I couldnt come. :( Maybe next year! Oh and Holly if ur reading this, thanks for getting Ty to the table in time. :P You must email me sometime!

In other news! The black holland posted below is now sold..I decided to put him for sale in the citys classifieds and in less then 24 hours, he went to his new home on a farm in the country. Hope he enjoys his new life "Alex"!

I am still accepting reserves on baby rabbits for next week till mon so get on my list!

I cant wait for my rabbits to be home, I miss them ALOT...its too quiet without them and nobody to sit on my lap all the time when I get home. Downstairs has been cleaned out now, All the crap is gone. Hmm.. my list of things to get..which will remind me of stuff anyways..new cheap mats, towels..blue and purple...rabbit pellets and shavings..need to get before monday. So much to do and barely any time..lol. Luckily I got monday, part of tues and all of wed off..then it starts again! I am really hoping that maybe at the end of aug I can go to edmonton for a small "vacation"...ya know..shopping..shopping..swimming...sleeping and more shopping..haha. So I will post some new pics of Ty as well as some pics of Lacy and Janines/Laura-anns rabbits early this week on my days off. Cyah!

The suspense!

Well first off, when I did get home I had one hell of a surprise downstairs where the rabbits would have been. (Thankfully were not there) The few days before we left and the freak rainstorm that flooded everything, it did flood down there but we left before we saw the real damage. Well when I got home..and went downstairs..there was MOLD everywhere..god..all my hay was gone and the mess I had on the floor was covered in mold..nice eh! I ended up throwing out all my hay, 3 towels and 3 mats I had down there to sit on cause of the mold. I used a mask too..lol. Then I put fans down there to air it out..yes theres still water down there..lol.

On sat, I aquired a little black holland lop buck. He is a SWEETIE! I know why too..haha..hes neutered..lol. He loves to sit in your lap and when hes scared..he actually flattens out..LOL. He has beautiful type..too bad cant have babies..haha..just has a bit of ear control. He is looking for a new loving home so plz email me if your interested in him. Ive posted pics of him above. :) Im asking $35 for him and his water bottle, feed dish and litter box. Definately a keeper for someone out there!

As for the show, I was definately heartbroken I could not go...I could have gone but nobody would be home to look after my cats and dog for the weekend and a few days later. Laura-ann showed Ty..my little sr sable point fuzzy buck. I am DYING to know the results of the show, how he did as well has his 2 siblings which were MUCH nicer then him. :P People need to get there butts online and explain! I hate waiting..lol.

Last nite was quite funny, I was watching the edmonton global news then on a commerical..they talked about rabbits. So i waited and then saw rabbits come up! They showed one of the judges talking as well as the judging of the hollands, saw a harli then all of a sudden TY!!!! Yes of all things that could be on there, my little buck was on tv...haha. It was definately him cause of his ears..LOL. That was quite a shock..lol. Then the news anchors were talking about him..aww..haha.

As for breeding, Ty will be for sale next year, I am planning on breeding him to Zoey and keep a little doe out of the pair. They will be bred in around jan/feb next year. Email me if interested.

On a final note, I will be bringing some baby lionheads and holland lops for sale as pets to the public next week. Email me to be put on a waiting list, specifing the breed and gender of what your looking for. They will be $40 each or willing to make deals on pairs. Cyah!

Ive returned

Yes ive come back from bc..that was last monday...it was a scary plane ride back too..very bouncy from calgary to gp then losing my luggage!! They did luckily find it late that nite..but i did get a credit for a free flight next time. :P Ive been working my butt off all week with a longer work schedule next week which sucks but what can u do! The trip went well, met people again and helped my gramma pack to move soon. She was ok, causing her own problems of course...other then that the trip went well!

Since I am sitting down, resting..almost done packing for sat since I work tomorrow, I thought I would write some more about stuff..haha.
Going to Laura-anns on tues really did one thing, It inspired me to really reach my goal. My goal of having my own place, doing what I love..animals..and enjoying life. I have future plans to get my own place (since nobody wants animals for renting and my mom hates them too..lol), start a small herd of rabbits once again and continue on. I would have about 12 fuzzy adults...shadeds of course, about a trio of hollands and possibly a trio of thriantas..oh didnt I tell ya, I am in LOVE with thriantas. I would also get a purebred dog from nice lines and breed and show it. My long term goal is to start my own business of some sort..at this present anyways haha...but currently I am working for a year till I decide offically what I want to do so this is my present thought. Focusing on my abilities and talents.
I would be a rather good animal activist too..haha..why? well cause I keep getting pissed off everytime I go to a pet store seeing underaged rabbits..or animals...and other animals breeding right in front of me! Or seeing ads for 3 week old rabbits for sale. Start my own thing ya know. Maybe I should just go to the spca...haha.
Anyways, life takes ya every direction and I know for certain, my passion for animals is quite strong and I will never give them up.
So that leaves to that, I hope the next few weeks goes well and life turns to normal once everything is done!

Well it has certainly been over a month since my last blog. I think I may start to write more blogs from now on..either on my current life or past.
The last few days have been completely unreal. I got a new job a couple weeks ago, working hard and enjoying my job of course. Unfortunately on monday when my mom talked to my gramma..her mom...she was not doing very well. We were planning on visiting her..and friends..in the middle of august like last year..but things have changed. On sat we are driving down back to nanaimo to be with her...help her out as she is living alone and other stuff. How it is working is my mom and sis are going to stay there and I will fly back up on the 30th to look after animals and continue my new job.
Now some ask, what about all your animals?? Well, on tues my rabbits and I drove to Taylor, bc..about a 3 hour drive from here to be dropped off to a local breeder Laura-Ann. If ur reading this, THANKS ALOT for keeping them for a while. They will be staying there till I get back. My dog is going to a kennel unfortauntely..she doesnt like big dogs..lol. The cats will stay at home, being annoying as usual!
Most unfortunately, I was on planning to attend the edmonton show this year, showing a couple fuzzies..mainly for other breeders to get legs since there are only a few out there...and possibly a chance to learn more about rabbits, judging, etc. But looks like its not gonna happen. But the one good thing, laura-ann will be bringing a couple fuzzies to show for me which I am quite happy for even though I get to miss the chance to see Alexa, a siamese jr I sold last show. What about her sister Lacy? Laura-ann has her and I saw her on tues. Honest to god, I almost had a heart attack when I saw her...LOL. She is one of the nicest fuzzies I have produced yet again. BEAUTIFUL coloring, wide, depth unbelieveably and amazing coat. The only thing I can fault her on is size, being largest of the litter but truly amazing. She is due for a litter but hopefully I have convinced laura-ann to show her anyways!
Getting back, must wonder what Ty is looking like now eh? Well he has surprised me just as much. Yes he still does have ear control but man hes nice..haha. Currently he weighs an amazing 2.7 pounds..coming out of a 3.6 and 4.0 pound parents..lol. Hes super short and cobby and a huge head coming in like his dad. He's so good..haha.
So much to say all at once! Another bun related thing, Mocha has been sick the past few weeks and I havent a clue what is going on. I did put him in a carrier for 2 weeks now and even at laura-anns, he is still confined to a small space. He has lost all condition and has no balance which is odd but im hoping he gets better!

So about the emergency thing, I will be away from sat on till the end of the month. I will be visiting and such, anyone who wants me to visit plz email me asap! Other then that, I hope everything goes well. Oh and I do plan to update my site eventually, but not right now. :P

What does a rabbit mean to u?

Well, since im not breeding anymore, I will share some thoughts on rabbits and other items! Note, these are my own opinions.
As the title reads, what does a rabbit mean to you? Really, is a rabbit a family pet, a breeding animal, money maker, food for other animals or just a thing? Some things to think about. Do u talk to your rabbit? Do u go see them when u feel bad? Play with them? Feed them treats?
A rabbit can mean a whole different from one person to another but one thing is definately worth looking at, do u actually pay attention to them?! I have seen this time and time again with pets, they get a rabbit as a baby, thinking it is adorable, then it grows up and looks ugly most of the time (honestly, pet rabbits look ugggllly to me). The child loses attention towards it and it just sits there day after day in its cage, withering away. Rabbits may be a pray animal but they do have feelings in my opinion. I have learned through my years that rabbits mean alot. They love it when u scratch them, petting there heads..especially bucks...give them there fav treat like carrots and running around outside in the grass or simply lying in your lap. If they are trained well they can become quite the intelligent animal. When I am feeling down, I will go see my little buggers and they somehow know I am feeling bad so they do little things like lick me or just sit quietly. Some may not agree but u have to see and listen to them. In a rabbitry, have u ever just sat in a chair in the middle of ur barn and watched your rabbits? What they do during the day, how they interact and what each personality is different from eachother? Its quite amazing really. Breeding related, have u ever just sat there and watched a doe play with her little babies at 3 weeks old? How they grow and become adults? These things u must wonder eh.
How many rabbits definately puts something on you as well. Too many can result in none getting enough attention as feeding and cleaning take most of the time. The babies dont get enough attention as well resulting in grumpy adults which pet and breeders alike dont appriciate.
Now do yourself a favor, enjoy these wonderful animals, one rabbit doesnt last forever so spend as much time as possible. Go sit with them, go sit in ur rabbitry, go brush the wee ones. Enjoy them. They love the attention and its good for the individual. Keep that in mind.

Little Slow..err..Majorly..haha

Well I guess I had better write a blog now eh..haha. Last month, went to Chestermere hoping to put on my last show and do well. I exceeded ALL my expectations majorly and came home with lots of ribbons and other items. As expected there was JUST enough fuzzies to get a BOB leg thank god for sure there! In total, I came home with 3 BOB and 1 BIS! I would have taken another BIS in Open if I actually entered all my rabbits in the open show who was the same judge as the youth show. I was going for comments on my rabbits and I knew that Zoey was a bit overweight and Ari LOOKED like a DQ cause she was shown in WA a few months ago and was DQ's all times. So i only showed SOME in that show. You can get what you can get! Anyways comment wise I was extremely impressed. Lacy, the broken siamese jr doe would have taken a bit more placings if her stupid coat wasnt chewed! All three judges commented that she has the most potential out of the three and should compete at convention. I COULD NOT BELIEVE how the judges commented on them, convention animal?!?! All three of my jrs did well in the long run, Ty even beat his dad at the youth show! The judge said he will bloom into an awesome show animal! Those two arent even my pick of litter! Alexa, the siamese jr doe took a BOS in one show, saying amazing promise and should be a nice show bun in a rare color!
Getting back, Alexa has gone with Gayle in Edmonton to make some awesome show babies, Lacy went on to a friend of mine who may show her next time and Ty is still at home with me. :)
On showing, the youth show was very amusing, it was basically all my rabbits against eachother! The judge had a look at each one, she took one look at Zoey and just went overboard! "This is one of the nicest fuzzy lops I have ever seen" This judge has alot of experience so I was very impressed, including she is my OWN breeding from my old line! She couldnt fault Zoey at all! Then a min later, she takes out Ari and Nova. Takes a look at Ari and goes wow. I was expecting another DQ..then a min later she says Ari BOB after looking at Zoey and Ari together for a couple min. Zoey was a bit overweight but it was a youth show so I figure better have an animal underweight anyways..lol. So its BIS showing for youth, I was against the famous Tri Doe from Shannon, figuring I dont have a chance and she definately deserved it. Then its BIS Ari! I was speechless..haha. Beautiful animal she is. Thanks Sarah for the pleasure of showing such a beautiful animal as well as her half sister. You should have stayed in fuzzies. :P
These beautiful animals, Ari, Nova and Snow have gone to live with Kaitlin in Washington to make some awesome babies with some convention bucks Kaitlin just bought. Make some more winners! These buns are not gone for good, they will be back one day. :)
So in all, I got lots of stuff and my beautiful animals got my last chance to perform. Also, I went to the zoo that weekend and cruised around downtown Calgary. A wonderful trip!
So this is perty much the end for me, I will still be around chatting about rabbits of course but not physically breeding, etc.
I know as time goes by, my rabbits ive always had from the beginning are starting to age and its quite unfortunate but they will stay forever with me. They are my family!

So some are wondering why is there a broken black buck on ur for sale page..lol. I got him from a trade basically, he is for sale though because I am no longer breeding and currently, I have 2 does and 4! bucks..haha. He is a cutie, possibly still available is u email asap. He is actually the grandson of Chester, a fawn fuzzy, half brother to Zoey who I gave away when I moved. Unfortunately he died suddenly due to some causes I will not post on here. You know who u are. Ok, getting back to normal now, my rabbits are spoiled as ever, grass and more time with me as well as more out time to be annoying..haha. Ty is definately coming into himself which I didnt think would happen. Beautiful cobby SHORT body and wide shoulders but his head hasnt caught up yet so will have to wait and see. :P Other then that life is normal, spending time with my animals and trying to finish up school and exams coming up.
I will post blogs on here, voicing my opinions to anything or just talking about the weather..haha. Cyah!

Well two things to report tonite..haha..the canucks won the 7th game..PARTY!! But calgary lost..awww....
The other thing is that all my buns are finally losing weight after 2 weeks now! Zoey has gone from 5.3 (yes she is a PIG) to 4.3 and Mocha from 4.8 to 4.2..woot! All of them are now getting close to the 4 pound mark..haha. I will be showing all the fuzzies..some in more shows then others and Blue! :P
I evaluated some of the buns as well...will do more tomorrow..Ari seems the best out of all of em..lol. Im so mad thou cause she is technically a broken sable point but her coloring is pure white like Mocha..which would be a DQ because she looks like a charlie..only points on her tail and nose and ears..it all depends on the judge and whether they decide to DQ or not..totally sucks! Other then that..there all good. Ty weighs in at an amazing 1.9! XD Alexa is 2.3 and Lacy is freaking 3.4..lol. Shes gonna be like Zoey for sure..huge head thou..haha. Final evaluations tomorrow and carrier cleaning as well. Then just packing! Swweeeettt. :P

Not Long Now

Well its starting to get close to my final show. I am of course very excited and also a bit sad that its my last. I have definately had a great time showing and breeding my buns the last 4 years now even through the ups and downs of losing buns and gaining some and meeting breeders..mainly in BC..a little bit (maybe more next weekend) in Alberta. Well who knows, in a couple of years when im settled I could start up again. :P My dream goal thing would be to have about 25 rabbits..half hollands, half fuzzies and yes some pets...lol. Who knows, fate does change. :P

Ok back to the show next weekend. I am going with Janine and Lea ann (sry ive never met u..lol) It should be quite the experience, the farthest ive travelled to a show as well..haha..lets see..what 9 hours? In a truck with alot of buns and more coming. :P I am showing ALL my fuzzies currently..mocha, zoey, snow, ari, nova, ty, alexa and lacy but each show I am switching them around cause im not made of money..lol. I will be showing in open and all buns in youth. Like I have said before, I am going to go out with a bang! My hopefuls are Nova for sure, Snow and Zoey if she stays underweight. :P My goals are mainly to get comments on them and see how they do. I am totally aware some are going to get DQ'd or whatnot so its all about comments. I am not totally sure if there going to do comments from judging or u do them yourselves so ya..if any other fuzzy breeder attending looks at this...I will be trying to write comments on my buns if noone else does..or fuzzies in general..hopefully on the judges side of the table. They do it everywhere except Ab and maybe east..I dunno..lol. I think its just plain STUPID that there are no comment cards after paying alot of money to show a bun..showing is NOT about winning! Winning is a bonus to what a great job the breeder has done in breeding/condition! Especially with there own buns! Speaking of..all the fuzzies are out of my lines except Mocha and Ari. Ok..i will stop complaining..

In other bun news...I have had to seperate Ty from his siblings because in 4 hours..lacy lost most of her hair on her back from him..lol..overgrooming..it is growing back though. Ty hangs out with each doe everyday now..lol..they dont mind..hes quite friendly and loves to lick and hang out..haha. All the buns are AMAZINGLY in coat! Im truly surprised at them and its so good!

In nonrelated news at all...theres a river in my backyard..LOL. I live in a townhouse unit and they have built a condo behind us..well behind that is the hay fields..so basically every year the water runoff would go where the condos are currently. So ya..the condos are all flooded and theres a river right behind us..more like rapids..lol..that even went on the road yesterday cause it overflowed more..haha. Just keep a watch out I guess. :P

Oh, also I am selling my grooming table, It will be brought to Chestermere. Its in good shape and excellent to put buns on thats normal height. :P Email me if interested! Cyah

Well sat was a huge success, the park was beyond packed and I was busy the second I got there! The buns got ALOT of attention and it was especially good for the jrs and nova and ari who are not used to this type of thing. :P I updated my site just now, new pics and updated things and added the easter event with ALOT of pics. haha...enjoy!

Well..the situation is becoming better now. The levels downstairs are down finally..it was a blockage...so now everything is getting back to normal and the cleaning begins! Other then that nothing new. I am off for break starting Thurs for over a week which is good but im still working.

Spring is here? Winter venges...

Ok, it has finally gotten warm the last few days..getting over 5 degrees..which is a very nice change from minus 10-20..lol. The downside..all the snow is melting...creates lakes on the roads and..in some cases...basements...
I have a crisis currently downstairs where my buns are located...it is SEVERELY flooding..yesterday morning I checked buns and I could see the usually tiny bit of water in the center where its lowest which is normal like last year. Plz note all my buns, equipment and my moms stuff is on pallets. At about 5pm I went down and totally stopped in my tracks, it has flooded to the TOP of the cement in the center, about 2 cms from going past the pallet where the cage with the babies and all my carriers are. The worst part..its flooded into the "safe" area where my other buns are and where I walk (crawl) everyday..about an inch of it. Last nite I moved Nova into a carrier to seperate her from her babies and today I was going to clean cages and clean Nova's cage. So Nova was in a carrier right on the floor when I went down..the carrier almost floating and the whole bottom had water in it. Luckly Nova is safe now..above ground. So basically I have lost some equipment that wasnt a match for the water..my grooming table is half covered..and a bucket full of stuff is under water now as well as a couple carriers. I will try to move all that stuff today and see if I can save it.
Now..to what happens next..its still warm out and Im positive this water is going to keep rising..its rising every hour...im VERY worried about my buns, I could move all the cages back but I dunno if thats enough. The other thing Im worried about is whats in that water. Today was suppost to be cage cleaning day where I clean those cages and sweep the floor of unwanted hay..which is all underwater now. Did I mention my mats and most of my towels are under water now too..lol.
So in case things get very bad before getting better, I MAY have to move my buns to another location somehow. If anyone has an area that I can use if need be, can they email me asap.

I will post another blog later about my truck with pics..that came home yesterday. I was suppost to get new pics of the jrs too..but may have to wait now.

I have posted some pics of downstairs currently, yes again I was suppost to clean cages today so it is a mess...I still dunno how im gonna clean em...

Wheres spring!

Well..of course I live up north but this is starting to drive me nuts..lol. Where is Spring!!!
Last year all the snow was gone by the beginning of March, which I believe is a first here..lol. This year, its back to normal..almost. Hard to believe spring will be here next week even though theres ALOT of snow on the ground and it keeps snowing..been snowing today and yesterday and got dumped 20+cms on monday (there was no school because of it and 7 hours of freezing rain)..I find it very funny that when the snow plow finally comes to clean the driveways around here, it starts to snow again. When will it end! I want to actually walk like a human being and not walk on eggs or skating if ya know what I mean. ;p
In other news not related to weather! Working my butt off in everything, cleaning and playing with buns and other animals I have, working and of course..school! I am getting very high marks concidering how "active" my life is right now. I still havent driven my new truck yet, its been in the shop for 4 days now..but thats good here because most of the time it takes 3+ weeks to get a car to be looked at..lol. Apparently its done today..lots of new stuff on it..but the windows are still not in and so it has to go to the glass shop afterwards..waiting sucks!
Bun related news, all 3 jrs are still available to breeders, I am willing to make some good deals on them plus add a few breeder related items if a breeder does take em. Great starter package to get into fuzzies! I am willing to ship to BC or deliver to the Chestermere show at the end of April. So far the black doe is indeed the best pick right now, GORGOUS gal, short, cobby and cute head and ears..starting to go into gangles thou. The broken (I still dunno if shes a black or siamese, she is much lighter then her mom) is wide still and very cute. :P The sable point buck..hes interesting..I believe he will have ear control but hes so cute and sweet, what more could you ask from a buck! Hes also VERY VERY tiny, im perty sure hes gonna be at the 3 pound mark if that as an adult. The black doe will be about novas size and the broken will be much larger..but shes still a cutie! There all still living together, no fighting and all LOVE to cuddle. Everytime I go downstairs there all sleeping in the corner together, eat together and all that stuff. :P The rest of my buggers are doing well, spoiled with treats and stuff. :P
Funny story yesterday and the day before, I was about to go to bed after feeding the buns a couple hours before, I heard some thumping...usually Roc or Ari will stomp if theres a strange noise...but I couldnt hear any noises and it wasnt there cages. I looked downstairs, its Mocha of all buns..then all of a sudden..POOF..Zoey appears out of nowhere in front of the stairs...LOL. Thinking to myself..how the... I went downstairs and very funny..she RAN to her cage and literly grabbed her food dish..LOL..she wanted seconds..haha. So I closed her cage door, thinking maybe I left the door open somehow. The next morning, I hear it again just before going to school..Mocha again..went downstairs again, theres Zoey staring at me..shes so mellow she would much rather come and see u then run off..lol..thank god..haha. So I put her back and looked at the cage door, I BELIEVE she has figured out how to get out..lol. I ended up putting a lock thingie on her door and thats been good ever since..little..I mean big brat..haha.
New layout concerned, I dont wanna put it up if its still snowing and everything..winter is still here! Next week its going up cause its also officially spring too. :P(I need to finish it anyways, need to fix a couple buttons) New pics are coming again as well since the babies keep changing..as well as new pics of Ari finally..shes a gorgous little gal now. :) Thats about it, cyah!

Whats Up

Well here ya go! These are somewhat recent pics of my wee ones, taken at 7 weeks of age. Yes there a beauty! and a huge change too! We got a sable point buck, a black doe and a siamese or black doe (I still dunno! her coat keeps changing color and she isnt the same color exactly as her mom when they sit close together)

I said I would put my new layout up but things have come up again..too busy now..guess it was gonna happen. I will put it up soon, I do have it finished but gotta update it!

So..what have I been up to?

Well a couple weeks ago I got a job at a restaurant, so im working now!

Also a very big excitement here...I got my first car on thursday. Very funny story there...

Basically I have seen this baby blue jimmy in a parking lot for a week now and saw it for sale for a very cheap price. I kept asking my mom to look at it but for a coworker at my moms work to look at it too cause they know cars and I dont. Well on thurs the coworker was with me so we went to look at it, said it was a good deal and an hour later we bought it! Also it looked like we were 10 min away from losing it cause there was this other car beside the jimmy while we were signing papers..very close I think!

So me,the coworker and my sis were going to drive it back to moms work in the shop to fix the minor stuff on it. Turns out it was almost out of gas so drove it to the gas station of course. Typical enough it died there. No its not a piece of crap..lol..the starter on it was never replaced and it decided to go then and there..lol. Fortunately we were only 3 blocks from the shop. We pushed it about 50 feet and finally my moms boss shows up and pulls us to the shop..lol.

Well, about my jimmy...its a 1991 S-10 jimmy, baby blue in color. Its in EXCELLENT shape, the interior looks brand new still and lots of new stuff in it! The creepy part...its a BC truck...and where its from..this is the creepy part...its from Cedar (where I used to live). It was just brought up here almost a year ago which is when I got up here! Very creepy..and I bet ive seen it before too!

So, typical guys at the shop repainted a lot of stuff on it, put some stripes down and a new stereo is now in (apparently the old owner had the stereo stolen out of there and she never replaced it), all the parts about to fall out are hooked back in and on monday its going in to get fixed, the minor parts like a fuse is gone so the windows on the left side dont work. Its gonna be one sweet ride after im done with it! Did I mention my buns and my dog can ride with me now..lol.

In other news! School is good so far, high marks (80s-90s) now which I havent seen since gr 9..lol. The bun buns are happy and full of it, spoiled as usual. :P

Im trying to make a decision right now about a few things..its very hard but I kinda have no choice right now. Life never stops and things happen! After school is over I would like to go into some serious work and money for that matter so im not gonna have time for much at all really. I will update my site soon but to let anyone know this. I am selling all my jrs even though its gonna kill me..ha..ha...I feel there is no point in wasting a nice show animal in a home like mine where it will never been shown. I will also be willing to let go of Snow as well under certain conditions. I am NOT selling any of my buns available to pet homes, they will go to breeder homes only to be used and looked after. Eventually when I get my crap together and have a house possibly, then I will start again, one condition for sure..I would like to get a relative or something from them when I start again. Lots of other stuff as well but u gotta email me if ur interested. I can ship to BC or deliver to a show if possible.

So im sticking to my 4 fav buns which got me started in all and ended it all as well.

Oh and to anyone, I am still available for bun info and such like chatting about buns..lol. I have lots of experience and its not like I just disappeared on the ends of the earth. :P

Life Goes On

Well I knew it was going to happen but I was hoping some things would not. Basically I am forced to stop breeding due to my current situation with where I am located right now..im in a townhouse and there in the crawlspace...im not staying my bunnies are in a tight area, they have the largest cages I pulled out of storage and such and get to run around down there..lol..
So basically I will not be breeding anymore for a while..maybe in a few years when I have my own place I will begin again but I know for sure I will be back in full force next time I get back. I do have my fuzzy lop brood/show gals for sale now but I am NOT in a hurry to sell them. I am willing to wait for the right home..prefer a breeder of course since these are very nice quality animals in breeding and type. If u are interested in breeding, I am willing to sell them as a package with the option of buying some of my own supplies (im loaded..its called a packrat..haha). I am not selling all my buns though, I am keeping my fav as pets- roc, blue and mocha had since beginning and will never leave, zoey was out of my first fuzzy litter and she is a sweetheart, snow is out of my pointed marsh who I lost recently and I love the red eyes..haha..and I will be keeping the broken from nova as a pet as well..she isnt the pick of litter but such a sweety in temperment!
With the others, Nova is pure show quality material, gorgous doe once her coat grows back, Ari has the head and body and only 3 pounds and genetics unbelievable like AK and Sky High and she is always the first bun to say hi when I go downstairs. :P
With the babies, the sable point buck is pick of litter, he is short and getting wide now, cute bucky head and very short ears and will be small in size plus a cute personality. The Black doe is looking more pet now, longer ears but wide body and will have a shorter coat then the rest. The broken has the best temperment and is the only one with its ears down right now..its cold out... cute bucky head, wide but long and will be about zoeys size..haha..and a very very long coat coming in..did I mention she looks identical to nova in coat pattern. :P

Waiting

So nothing new is going on right now. I ended up not going to Wetaskiwin because I really have nothing to show currently. Yes Snow is very nice right now in full coat as well as Ari. Ari is a whole story on her own but ill explain in a sec. Nova whos my best gal has a litter right now, zoey and mocha are molting like crazy and those babies are going to be worth it to show later on. I shall just have to wait! Ari has filled out body wise and her coat is growing very very long now. I love her, very full HQ now and shoulders are much better then they were. Novas coat is growing out finally so hopefully full enough to show later on.
The babies are getting big fast, I will put new pics up tonite of them..there so cute..haha. The broken has its ears down now and the rest are following slowly..its just so cold out. There coats are growing very quickly to stay warm. Looks like the broken will be a carbon copy of mom with her coat as well and markings, the other two I am not sure what there coats are going to be like. There just so cute though..haha. Getting used to people and such so its all good! Will keep updated and new pics soon and new layout since im sick of winter..lol.

Whats up

Ok, so I havent posted in a while, including not coming back from nanaimo, like I said before I left, everything was good and the flight back was awesome, I had to literly jump from one plane to another to get home. Lots of fun! Exams are done and the new semester is here, I got gr 12 courses, math, bio and french so its not AS bad but still alot of work. :P
Baby wise, 3 little ones are left, I BELIEVE theres a sable point buck, I LOVE him to bits, hes smallest of litter, short and TINY ears..I swear he looks like a jw..haha. A siamese or possibly a black even thou its got black feet and light above leg..who knows..doe??? maybe a buck..I dunno. It is bigger in size but has the hugest head ive ever seen and width between eyes, very very nice..haha. The broken is a black and a doe I believe, biggest of them all and more brood but quite the personality. :) I will be keeping a buck, hopefully if the sable point stays a buck, maybe..haha. Whoever has better body type and mainly..COAT. There sure cute now though. :P
All the other buns are in coat except Mocha..and are in good weight, etc.
Show wise, I dunno what I am going to do, I have enough money to go to 2 shows this year, edmonton is number one here because its in the summer and no school and the second I cant make my mind up! I can either go to Wetaskiwin which I can get a ride or Chestemere if I can get a ride possibly?? I want to go to both but my problem is currently my "star" rabbit has her litter and cannot be shown for a few months. I am stuck with only 1 serious show animal..Snow..but she lacks in head and longer in body but awesome coat and width so I dunno! Is it worth it to spend alot of money to show 1 rabbit seriously and register some buns?? I could go to Chestamere and have those babies to show too and her mom whos the star bun and possibly even have another litter ready if I bred another doe right now but I dont think I have a ride. :S :S
Ok, so anyone who has ANY ideas on this, plz email me! I need to make my mind up and ya..i DUNNO!
Ok, some are wondering, what about easter?? I have been offered to come back this year to the park on sat so I am going, babies will be coming too. :P Possibly going to the mall as well for a few days. This year im more serious into what it takes to become a rabbit pet owner. I will have lots more information on rabbit care and more about the breeds, etc. Should be better this year! Last Day

Well today is my final day in Nanaimo, Ive had alot of fun and doing stuff nonstop..waiting to get into the shower so decided to post. Ive gone out shopping a few times, went around to my old houses..man things have changed alot.. seen friends and family and even went to school at my old school..lol. Went places as well. Lots of fun! I have even had a chance to drive around myself because I cant at home cause I dunno how to drive in ice yet..lol. I have heard its quite warm and the roads are bare at home so maybe that has changed..woot! Unfortunately I gotta catch a plane at 6am tomorrow morning..yes that SUCKS. I will get home by noon th0ugh so thats good. Thurs and fri morning I got my other part B exams then I dont start new semester till Jan 31. In the period between, Ill be cleaning the house..spring cleaning..and fixing stuff. Its all good. :P
Rabbit wise, I cannot wait to get home and see my buns and new babies I have. The bad thing is my sister told me a couple days ago Ari squshed her litter of 2 so ive lost her litter. This happened in her last litter too. She may be up for sale so email me. Novas litter has been doing well im told and are getting bigger. I will get pics of her babies tomorrow nite after I get home. Speaking of..I gotta clean cages too..haha. So much to do. Oh and did I mention STUDY! Well I can do that on the plane..haha.
Oh and I have seen some easter stuff around, I hopefully will be attending some events around easter once I talk to some people. I will have that litter available at easter but its unknown if any will be available because my waiting list is quite large now. Bunnies are always a favorite for kids. :P Email me if u want me to attend any festivities. Ill see what I can do!

Finally something good happens..and im NOT home!

Ok well, as u should know I got into Nanaimo last nite, there was a 4.5 hour delay in vancouver though so took a very long time to get here...travelled from 1pm-11pm. The planes were good and I got here in one piece, just tired..haha.
Last nite after I got off the plane in vancouver, i get a msg from my sister that one of the buns had babies..all over her cage too..lol. I ended up phoning her and telling her what to do. I KNEW it would happen after I left because they were both making messes in there cages. :P The bun turned out to be nova too so im very happy. No problems kindling and the babies..unknown if 4 or 5 are alive. My sister cannot get into the cage because Nova keeps literly attacking her..lol. She will keep an eye on them and hoping they make it! Nova also didnt have them in her box but they are housed on a solid floor so its ok. I am very happy with this gal doing a good job. If ari has some more then should, I will not be able to foster the litter to ari and thus, I will not be able to go to Wetaskiwin because Im missing my main show gal. I have been waiting forever to get a litter live...4-5? tries now.. and finally I get one out of a first timer who I have tried several times to get bred..funny eh. Ok well I had better get dressed and head out, I will update if ari has her litter. One thing is I will not be able to tell colors on novas till I get back home so stay tooned. Im just as excited!

Another One..

Ok, yesterday was a very devestating day for me personally because I lost a very close family member. My holland lop doe Clover passed away at 10:30am yesterday morning of unknown reasons. This was very similar to Marshs condition but much more rapid. Clover was fine 2 days before then the day before her death, she stopped moving and eating and her condition declined. She simply had enough of life.
Clover was one of my first rabbits, besides Rockette as I got her and Clover at the same time. She always wanted food and her head rubs. She was definately a fatty and loved children as well. She will be very much missed as my whole family is greiving over this loss. Hope she is having fun up there eating to her contents desire. RIP Clover

Battle Lost

Well as u may have seen on my site and tagboard, Marsh did pass away this morning. It was a long and very hard fought battle but in the end, Marsh had enough. It was for the best. There isnt much you can do when a rabbit or animal in any case stops fighting and gives up completely. I hope she has fun up there in the sky, looking for headrubs every 2 seconds and enjoying playing and running.
Now some many wonder, now what? I lost my only pointed white doe and now what? Still doing pointeds? Well I still have Marshs daughter, Snow and other carriers so who knows, maybe another Marsh will appear in a litter one day. I long hope for that.
Litter wise, Ari is still preggy, diggin everyday..waiting for those babies! Nova is still unknown..haha.
On my site there are new pics of fuzzies and Roc, these were taken with a professional camera by my sister who is a very talented photographer with help from the bunnies of course. :P

New development, I will be going to Nanaimo (vi) from Jan 16th to 24th. If u happen to see this and want to plan a visit, email me and I can make plans. :P It will be fun, get away from this ice and snow and coldness..hopefully. :P
Exams are soon approaching as well, I have tests all this week and finals the week after and the days after I get back from Nanaimo so will try to update as best I can.

Well unfortunately im one day late but what the eh...happy birthday to me! Yes im officially 18 now, an adult in Alberta. :P WOOT! Been having fun last few days and enjoying my adulthood..hahaha.
Update on Marsh, A few days ago I almost lost my special gal but somehow after I had given up all hope she came back and began to perk up. Yesterday for the first time in over a week she finally ate something on her own and drink on her own. I have now learned that it was a blockage because currently she is not going to the bathroom so I know for sure now. I have given her some stuff to fix this and hopefully she recovers quickly and healthy.
Litter wise, Nova did not take the latest time when she was due Jan 1st but she MAY have taken for next time, I will not know for another week. Ari definately took again and she is digging away as usual, bigger then last time too.
Nova is definately becoming a very nice gal now, filling out at last in head and body, becoming a very nice sr doe. The others are all in coat and looking quite nice. All my fuzzies are in coat for the first time ever and look very nice. I would like to go to Wetaskiwin now because they have all gotten in condition, etc but I will need a ride to go, plz email me if u got room, it would only be 2 carriers. Ill update site later. :P

Troubles and Xmas Gifts

Well yesterday was quite fun, got some new stuff all for moi..haha. I got a very very nice Ipod..video one.. and also accessories for it like hooks up to the tv, car and a pouch for it. :P I also got a few ps2 games, chocolate, clothes and of course money and gift cards! My mom also has put money down for when I buy a car...hehe.
Bun related news, on xmas eve Marsh got very sick and currently is very sick. For the past 3 days I have been syringing water and liquid food to her and also trying everything I can think of and other people who have helped..thanks..to help my poor doe. She just went off her food, dropped weight like a rock and doesnt move at all. Believe me she ALWAYS comes to see me when I open her cage and now doesnt do anything. I believe its dehydration of some sort. I got a couple more ideas so will try them tomorrow. Hope it works or I will have to take her to the vet...just hoping she makes it! She is my only pointed doe and one of my fav buns.
Breeding related, its obvious Ari took, she is always digging..haha. Nova on the other hand, I cant tell if that doe is gonna have them this week or in a couple of weeks. She just hids them very very well but her belly is hard so I will be safe then sorry either way.
I am currently off of school for 2 weeks now, come back in middle of jan for a week then exams and I am off again for another 2 weeks. :P I still got alot of homework though so its no easy walk in the park..lol. Oh and I forgot to mention if I havent said this before, I am turning 18 next week...hehehhe...thats adult in alberta...so excited..how the time has flown by.. :P

Near Christmas..No Babies

Well sorry I havent posted in a while but things have been a but busy around here with xmas coming and all. Last nite I cleaned cages/moved buns AND did xmas shopping AND wrapped presents..all this after school..haha. Exams I gotta study for and other stuff during the break. The last day is tomorrow and we get back sometime in Jan..no I dont know when..lol. On another note, my 18th b-day is on the first...yes u heard me, im a new years baby :P..and in Alberta that is concidered to be an adult! Woot!
Bun related news... Ari had her litter on Dec 15, 1 peanut, 1 DOA and she stepped on the last one..stupid first timer.. They were all sable points and quite small for her which is a good sign. Nova I thought was bred but I put her in and she bred again so now I dunno which date she is due so I will wait to see if she gets fat soon..lol. I still do not know if I am going to the wetaskiwin show or not, especially if both does have litters. I would show Snow and Nova for sure if I went since there my nicest fuzzy stock. We shall see! I shall write another blog later.

First Litters

Well..to continue on with the stories...my first litters. Oh and i have been sick yesterday..that will teach me for not making food right..haha.
Well my very very first litter was with Nicki. She was bred to a smoke pearl marten buck when I got her. She had already had a litter of 7 and she raised them all. The day after her due date I came home, there was 6 little things all over her cage, not in her box. I was really freaking out and had no clue what to do. 4 of them had already passed and two little fighters were left. Since it was my first litter, for some reason I brought the two upstairs to warm them up, held them in my arms and 2 hours later they did pass on. I believe to this day that the litter was either smoke pearls or sable points. After that mishap, I bred Nicki to my new buck Blue and got a litter of 6 with 2 DOA. They were all broken blue torts, 1 buck and 3 does. Since it was my first actual litter and not knowing what to keep, I decided to sell them all as pets, the day the buck was going home he peed all over me..lol. The last two females had someone wanting to look at them at VIEX so I took them with me. I showed the one and she got 2nd..Sugar... so I sold her sister instead of both since her sis had severe ear control. Now that I look at the pics from that litter, I should have kept that whole litter...the buck was VERY nicely boned and he did indeed of very few Blue babies had his beautiful head.
My Second litter was unfortunate. I bred my doe Rockette to Blue, she was 4 days overdue so I took out her box and put her in a normal cage. Typical enough she had the litter on the wire and they froze.. 3 sable points and 2 torts. I rebred her and she had a nice litter of 2 sable point does and a tort buck. She is a very weird doe because she REFUSED to use her box and honestly..she raised them in a clump of shavings and other stuff..lol. Like last nite, I should have kept that whole litter but sold the tort buck at 8 weeks (he woulda been very nice) and one sable point doe at Cowichan after I showed both of them. The downside was the one and nicest I kept had Roc TERRIBLE temperment. I personally believe NEVER to breed a bunny if there temperment is just so bad..constantly biting, etc. I will never be breeding Roc again because of this. This sable point doe, Jasmine was one of them and she was more of handful then her mom. She did have the nicest type ever though. I eventually sold her to Ontario. Some people have seen Rockette and she doesnt look like she bites or anything. I spent over 2 years with that doe to get her temperment under control and constant training so she will not attack anyone..at least not while someone is holding her. She is the calmest bun the barn for that reason of training her over her life.
The third litter I got was Clover to Blue. Clover had 8 babies, 1 DOA. This was very very strange because almost every single baby was a different color and very very different in genetics. The downside was there was this one br blue buck who was deformed in its spine because she was carrying so many babies and not enough room for them all. He lived till 8 weeks old. This was my largest loss so far in my history of breeding. The colors included in the litter were blue, black, opal, chestnut, cream (false lynx). Clovers next litter was a breed back to Blue and I actually kept two babies out of the four..the colors were tort, chestnut and 2 opals. I kept the tort doe and chestnut buck. The opals were sold to breeding and pet homes but one opal came back 4 months later. I knew he would have Blues head and he indeed was growing into himself quite nicely but like as a baby, was long like his dad. The tort doe I sold later and as far as I know, she was the nicest holland I have ever produced. HUGE head and VERY full wide body. Unfortunately she died with her new owner. The chestnut buck I kept but sold him after because I didnt have enough room for another holland buck. He was smaller in size and nice head and ears but lacked in width. Clovers babies just take longer to grow.
Ever since then, I had more holland litters and a bunch of fuzzy litters till I moved and downsized majorly.

What Have I Won?

Well to continue on with my boredom and my buns, Ill tell ya about what I have won and my first wins. :D
My first win was at VIEX 2004, I had my first litter of buns from Nicki..x Blue.. and I didnt know about type then so was going to pet them out. I had 2 of them on hold and were about to be picked up when I decided to show the one for fun. She turned out to get second out of ten. I was stunned! I kept her..Sugar... and sold her sister. That whole litter was actually quite nice from the pics and Im mad at myself for not keeping them all..lol Sugar went on to win a leg and a few seconds against some tough northwest competition. My other wins included a leg for blue at Luxton 2004 and a few others. Chester was my main buck for winning, he had about 5 first wins but there was never enough breeders for fuzzies. My largest win was in Cowichan 05? Belle won her first leg and BOV, Chester won BOB and Tessa, my french lop won BOB..there was also barely any bunnies there..haha. I got a whole bunch of large ribbons though! Currently this year has been no wins but I am trying and with the new breed into advancement, that is bound to change next year. :)

I have a comment for the show peeps out here though.. I had no idea that they did not have comment cards for these shows in AB, etc and I suggest to have that sort of thing in the future because more people will show buns JUST for comments like I did but I didnt even get a result. I got over 100 cards at home I will just have to bring my own comment cards in the future.

How I got Started in Buns

Well I have got this question quite a bit and I like the idea of other people explaining there stuff in there blogs..im also bored..haha.
So to begin.. In the spring of 2003 we got the chance to move into a farm in Yellowpoint, BC (South of Nanaimo). We were able to bring my horse home and all the other stuff. This was 5 acres with a very large barn and very large house. So we went to the VIEX that summer to look for another horse to join mine and learn about the Canadian horse (which we eventually bought a few. :P) Anyways we were walking around the tents..I had my dog with me... and I spotted the bun barn and went in without knowing about the dog rule..haha. Walking around and I seen some very cute hollands for sale. My sis had always wanted a bunny since I had my horses so I decided to phone my mom on her cell and see if she wanted one. She came over and we looked at a few buns. My sis wanted to get into 4H so we wanted a "show quality" bun and I wanted a pet. The rabbitry was Sunny Skies Rabbitry owned by Cera Young at the time and she has quite a few litters for sale. That day we came home with a buck for my sis..with his pedigree for show and I got a pet doe. Both were hollands.
That day we went and built a hutch for the two to live in the barn. A I started to do some reseach after about hollands and came across Sunny Brook Rabbitry and other rabbitries. I bought a large cage and brought the two buns inside. I also bought a couple "cages" that turned out to be carriers. We also bought a holland lop doe..Nikki..who was bred but had a bad litter. After talkin to some breeders online, I heard about a show..VIRBA in feb. So off we went as a family to the show with the two buns, we were going to show the one and brought the other for fun. We get the show buck tattooed and put on the table, he placed 12/19. Not bad compared to tough northwest competition. Before I had emailed a washington breeder about getting some hollands (M&S Rabbitry) and she had quite a few available. I got Blue and Rose (Now sold). She wanted to look at my buns so I brought them both over, she said they were both quite nice and surprisingly, the buck was actually a doe! That doe is rockette..haha. She acts like a buck ALOT. The other bun of course is Clover. We were about to leave and Sue came over and asked if we wanted these buns. There was I believe 6 baby sable point fuzzy lops in a carrier. She had them for sale for a friend but nobody would buy them. We tried to take 2 of them home but only came back with one..sitting on my sisters seat all the way back home..haha. That Fuzzy was of course Mocha. :P Mocha turned out to be my sis's 4H bunny.
My sister got tired of the bunnies and I took over them and began to raise bunnies. After a few litters, I aquired two more fuzzy lops..Chester and Shizam 6 months later. After moving again, I got into the lionheads with 2 F1's from Wendy. I bred them and they had a litter then I sold the Buck. I also had gotten a DM PB lionhead doe named Hailey..she was a cutie! Also very nice type! I also had gotten a pet french lop Tessa from Rainstar Rabbitry. At VIEX in 2005, I got another M&S doe..Belle but unfortunately couldnt have a litter and was petted out. Who am i missing..oh Kyle..I got from Kims rabbitry in early 2005 but only got one litter from him. I am missing my pet cavy Abby..pyruvian boar..who was from Sherris.
The rest I say is history..I had been forced to move and only kept my most special buns..Roc, Clover, Blue, Mocha and a couple others of my own lines. Nicki I had wanted to send her to a pet home but she went to a home in Kamloops on the move up. The rest of my buns and my pet pig were sent with another breeder who I am not naming for what she did to my bunnies..there deceased now. I had to sell a couple of the ones I brought because they couldnt have any litters. Now as seen, I am doing fuzzy lops because it is something different. :P

New everything!

Well FINALLY i got this new layout up..thanks sarah for the banner. :) I also bred another doe last nite, Nova..to mocha. This combo is actually quite good because nova is very short and small and mocha has nice bum which Nova lacks. Ari is also due in a couple of weeks, she is positive on being preggy..ive felt about 4-5 so far. Man she is FAT! haha
Anyways new pics and new layout..hope everyone likes it XD Oh and that pic of Ari on the front page, thats the best pic of a fuzzy ive ever taken..im quite happy with myself..lol. Ill keep updating and changing, cant wait for some babies! My waiting list is getting quite long now so I highly suggest emailing me if u want to wait for a baby or two. These babies will be ready near the end of Jan and beginning of Feb. If I do get to go to Wetaskiwin, I will be bringing those babies left to sell and maybe even show them! Of course going to show the other fuzzies and register my whole fuzzy herd. :) If I dont go..ill have to wait and it will suck! Anyways cyah

Cold...

Wow..i think im gonna freeze in these conditions right now. Been going on for over a week now of temperatures in minus 30s and windchills of over minus 40s with no end. It is suppost to get warmer in the next few days but nobody is quite sure. I am sure of one thing, I am quite happy to not be on the island right now because with what ive heard, huge dumping of snow and very chilly temperatures. Here most of the snow isnt as big of a problem because its frozen but driving is just rediculious thats why im not driving! haha
Bun wise, nothing is really happening, for some reason the buns are in coat so new pics will be taken soon. Sarah from rainstar rabbitry has made me a new banner for my site so I will try to put new layout up soon. Its just been sooo hard because I have english and socials..im in grade 12 by the way..and recently been getting essay or writing assignment after another for 2 weeks now. I hope to get everything caught up soon!
Just to let u know I am available to the public to come out to events as long as its a warm place, the buns love attention and are gentle enough for little children and they just love to come out of the house. :P Just email me

Stuff..

Well sry I havent updated or done anything lately..been busy with school and currently being sick all weekend isnt helping! I finally got to do the cages tonite..I have nail clipping, weighing and mochas coat needs to be brushed..all done on wed. Tomorrow im going to the Three Days Grace/Theory of a Deadman/Mobile concert here in town which im BEYOND excited and cant wait! Woot! Then wed doing that..band on thurs and so on..fri and all weekend gonna catch up on homework (ESSAYS!!) and finally put this layout up and new pics, etc.
Now I have my buns on a new small diet plan to get there weight down and ive discovered something..my buns are all underweight now! haha.. I will hopefully get to register some of them in the spring now that there not so fat!
Little note, Novas head is coming in and im simply LOVING it..but my problem..(if anyone can help..email me..lol) I need to sell one of these does eventually so which one..the choices are Nova, Ari and Snow. Nova has a nice head coming in but lacks in crown, she is short but undercut very badly and I dont like her coat but she is very small. Ari has a BEAUTIFUL head and crown, very very nice coat but she is long and but not as undercut as Nova and small size as well. Snow is a larger doe with a very nice coat, ok head and ears could use improvement (slipped crown), she has very nice shoulders and very nice HQ but she is quite quite long in body type. So who would u choose to sell? haha..i should just wait maybe..lol.
I am darn well planning on getting a new fuzzy buck to my rabbitry in the spring cause I just cant keep working with the same buck..lol. So anyone out there gonna sell a SMALL short self/shaded solid fuzzy lop buck in the spring..email me. :P
Now what everyone has been waitin for..litters.. so as ive sad in my tagboard, Snow unfortunately obsorbed her litter which is normal for a first timer unfortunately so no xmas babies available. Last wed I did breed Ari to Mocha for a litter somewhat close to xmas but one can only hope. She is definately bred I know for sure..(very very grumpy doe..lol) so im hoping for some small babies with either buns coat and huge heads/nice crowns..lol. Im almost positive they will be all broken sable points since Ari is a charlie..haha.
To anyone that reads this, I will be looking for a ride to the feb show around here and anyone that can give me a ride there..email me..i know its early but I like to get a head start so if i go..i can get these buns conditioned through the winter.

There Here!!!

Omg. Thats all I can say. It has been over a year since I have had a chance to get some new buns and these guys were worth it! Thank u so much Sarah for getting these guys home!
Ok, explaining time! Basically I was very very impressed and sorta in shock because I have never seen fuzzies so small before..lol. Nova and Ari both weigh at 2.8 and seriously are about half the size of all my other bunnies. I needed to get down in size already but now I definately have a reason now! Nova has definately zoeys body just from looking at her and her head is developing nicely. The only thing I dislike about the doe is her COAT. She has the type of coat where it is like an 8 week old baby, all wool and no guard hairs. I am planning on breeding her to Mocha when she is old enough to fix the problem. Because of her wool, she does require more grooming attention compared to all the others who dont need to be groomed at all..lol. Nova also has Zoeys funny attitude and her way of thinking is my way or the highway..lol. Ari on the other hand is a total opposite. She is a very mellow doe with the oddest coat ive ever felt. it is quite silky in touch but it is full of gaurd hairs and wool non the less. Maybe its the nice lines she has..lol. She does not need to be brushed either. Her head is a different story, suprisingly I have never seen a fuzzy or holland have such a perfect crown placement and width and if her head grows in, things may get interesting. She is very tough decision! Her body lacks big time right now, she is longer then I want and is severely undercut but does have better shoulders then Nova right now which I am lacking in my herd. Zoey is the same old, when I first saw her, I was quite happy but when I actually felt her coat, she reminded me of what I had lost (Her mom Shizam and Chester who recently passed away) but I feel stronger now because I have what was lost and I can replace those with more of her babies. Zoey has definately gotten darker in her age, possibly even smoke like in her coat. her coat is very very nice and long which is a bonus. Currently molting in her face so i cant really tell what her head is going to do. Same old gal with her moms attitude. :)
Now I havent even decided what I am going to do with them yet. I need another buck..lol. I gotta figure out a way to decide on type of breeding program and what about them. They will be shown in Feb and I think all will be registered along with Blue and possibly Rockette. We shall see. Snow is showing signs of being bred which Im happy about. I will not be keeping any of the babies unless somehow theres a pointed fuzzy..lol. They will be ready for just after xmas. Ill keep updated and new pics of the new buns will be up ASAP. Cyah

Finally!

I am so happy now..lol. Finally got that stubborn doe bred after almost two weeks of trying. It was very strange how it happened... I basically held her down and he did his job, very lucky im guessing..lol. Strangely after she was bred, I put her back and she didnt move at all for an hour, so I took her out and had her run around a bit and sat with her. I guess she was just stunned I tricked her..lol. This morning she is back to her usual self, running everywhere.
Got some results from the show yesterday, Nova shown as a broken jr and got 3/5 but was DQd because she had no tattoo. Sarah had just gotten there like 5 min before the show began and didnt have time to tattoo. Stuff happens I guess. Cant wait for the fuzzies to come this weekend, been driving me nuts waiting for them. :)

Now the Waiting Game

Well I finally got somewhat of what is going on and happening now. There is a delay on the fuzzies getting up here as you know but now I know when there coming up..lol. They will be here not this weekend but next weekend because Sarah is going to the Monroe show this weekend. Speaking of the monroe show, Nova (Zoeys daughter) will be shown there because she is looking so nice. I am so happy to see how she fairs against some tough NorthWest competition!
Other then that, life is as usual and school is going well..I think..lol.
I still cannot get Snow bred, everyday I try and I think I will just put her with him for a few days until something happens..lol. Thats about it! Ill blog again when I get some results from Nova or anything else that happens!

Of Course Something Goes Wrong!

Well I figured I had better write what was going on here, first off, for some very odd reason I cannot get Snowbell bred, I have tried for about 4 days now. First it was Mocha that did not want to cooperate but now its Snowbell..very frusterating!! Yesterday I thought maybe she didnt like Mocha so I put her with Blue and I still got no reaction! I will keep trying with this doe until she gets bred, I know she must be old enough because she is over 6 months old now and weighs about 3.5 (fatty). She just will not lift her tail!
There may be some delays on getting my buns too..at least for a few weeks, I am not sure whats going to happen but I will keep updating till I get more info. Hope everything gets settled out soon!
Other then that..school is going good..tough subjects but im managing. :P Buns are happy and spoiled..haha. Any rabbit breeders that want to add me to there msn..more then welcome to! horse_girl294@hotmail.com :P Well ttyl when I get some more info!

New Stuff! and Others..

Well, I need to write more blogs..lol. Obviously my site has been updated with a new layout..for fall. :) It looks nice and it works for me.
Now new stuff..as seen on my site, I am getting 3 new fuzzy lops. WOOT! All girls, one is Zoey (sable point doe out of mocha, HUGE head on her and VERY nice coat like her daddy, sold her like more then a year ago), Zoeys daughter Supernova who is out of a Fuzzy Peach buck with 5 legs and Supernovas half sister Ari out of same dad but mom is all AK and Sky High (very nice lines). I will also be getting 2 new carriers and a bunch of water bottles and stuff. Thanks sooo much Sarah for making this possible and getting my big gal back. :) They will all be arriving next weekend!
If u didnt notice, all those buns are fuzzies. So I have decided that I am going to do a very small breeding project for fuzzies. My goal is to have brush (or close to) free coats and awesome temperments. Mocha and Snowbell already have no brush coats so I hope to get more type into my lines. The other reason why is that there are too many holland breeders and so my chances of getting good placings at shows is very slim because I cannot breed as much as other breeders. Thats my goal for this/next year. :P
On a side note, I am sorta being a little critic but I have noticed one thing being out here (Alberta, SK, etc), alot of the hollands are sure lacking in head and depth in body. It is sorta odd really and I think holland breeders should look into it. They need to get some different lines with heads and such. That is just my opinion. It doesnt matter for me because I am not going to be doing hollands much anymore but my buck Blue is still available for stud if anyone wants.
Getting back to my fuzzies, I am planning on breeding Snowbell today, yes back to her dad but I think it would be best, she is lacking what he has so yah..lol.
Show wise... I am not planning on going to shows till next spring at the least when I have some nice fuzzies to show and jrs, etc. I am in the works of doing a rabbit setup somewhere in a couple of months for the public..I just havent phoned around yet to see where..I was thinking the mall but I gotta phone around. Anyone who wants me to come out and have buns for a display, plz email me. I am available and I love to see peoples reactions and educating them about bunnies. :) Thats about it for now, will update when the new buns come!

Oh on another note here, forgot to put of course! I am taking a website course in school to learn more about the computer and stuff. So if anyone wants to know, I am doing websites for breeders or any animal or hobby sites for ~$30 for it all. Need to experiment and expand more on my learning! I use geocities but with my own methods, you only need the free version because I can put up as many pics as the person wants because they do not go on geocities but my own thing ive done. New School Year, What About the Bunnies!

Well now to talk about the bunnies! I have soo many ideas of what to do with them or not do anything at all! It all comes down to money and time, etc. Basically I am not going to be breeding very much, there will just be pets mostly and be spoiled and go to events to explain to the public about them.
My new plan, I will have a very small breeding project going on but not very many litters. If things go well and these 2 holland does are sold very quickly, Ive got a hold on a few buns I want to get and there not hollands! I am kinda sick of hollands now because everyone has them out here in the prairies and there is no other breeds, just hollands and mini lops. So i want to do my own project and not worry about winning and too much competition and stuff. There is a hint on my website but your gonna have to look for yourself! :P
Besides that, nothing is really gonna happen. Ive got alot of money needed in areas, car..college..expenses, etc and a shed is kinda looking at the bottom of the list right now since we are not currently moving and stuff. If we moved, I would seriously think about that kind of stuff but currently, no.. school is more important right now!
With the 2 does for sale, I cant get litters out of em and I have tried quite a few times and I believe a doe should only be bred a few times because the more litters they have, the less they live. So there for sale to good pet homes, very friendly gals and love attention!
Mocha is sure looking good right now, very nice long coat and small size. I love him. :) Marsh's points are finally coming back in after her molt, very nice and dark chocolate coloring! Snowbell on the other hand..holy crap! I was sure not expecting this out of 2 animals both with some pretty bad faults. Ive noticed with every baby I get, there smaller then the parents at full grown which I do love and its quite interesting! Snow is no different, she is almost the same size as her mom but smaller, she was the smallest of the litter and stuff. Her coat is growing back in, LOTS of texture and the best coat of a fuzzy lop ive ever seen. Her head, ears and crown are just gorgous and her HQ is coming in nicely. I can only fault her right now on being a tad long in the shoulder but im sure its gonna get better! Its very odd though, marsh's faults are she is long and narrow, small head and long ears and mocha's faults are he is long in shoulder, long in body and long in his ears and somehow this gorgous tiny little doe came out of both! Im soo impressed and I cant wait for babies out of her! I sure wish I could show her now! Ill just have to wait I guess.

What a Summer

Well this summer was interesting, from sitting around being bored to going to summerslam in July then Edmonton to a bun show in the beginning of August then a couple weeks later to Vancouver Island to visit some friends, family and bunny friends!
While on the island, dropped off the 2 jr does then on sunday went to the viex and hung out with some old buds and seen some new and interesting bunnies! I woulda bought some buns if I could..hehe. I was there for 9 days in total! On the way back we stopped in Kamloops for a sleep and we had 2 coolers of fish in the back..well what do you think happened! We had a bear come up to the van in the middle of the night and left its tracks on the back of the van..quite funny! Other then that, it was a very nice trip and I cant wait to go back!
Currently I am going on to my last year of school! *cries* but hey it will be over!! Woot! haha.. then I can get on to college and find out what I want to do and be in my life! Thinking about a vet or computer tech but we shall see! My course load isnt that big..uh..2 spare blocks right now..haha. This year im hoping to go out to the public and address people about bunnies in as there not just pets but animals that must be looked after properly and treated with respect. I can get scholarships from doing this too..haha.

Less then a week till Edmonton!!

Im so excited :P First show in a year and Im dying to go! So many shows in one weekend to boot! It kinda makes up for the shows I missed too. Woot!
For Edmonton, I dont got a ride for the 2 jrs to Nanaimo so I got the extra spot in carrier so I will be bringing Mocha (Sable Point Fuzzy Buck). Both my boys are available for stud if anyone wants to know, both have had many very nice litters. I will be looking for a buck or two to breed to Belle and Nicole as well because my boys are a bit bigger then them and I dont want to interbreed them.
So..showing.. Ill be showing Blue, Roc and Clover sat first show just for fun since they are in coat right now and excellent shape. The 3 buns im focusing on are Belle, Nicole and Snowbell. Showing em all weekend. Snowbell is gangly again currently so it will be interesting to see what happens with her. I hope to grand Belle at edmonton and get legs for my homebred buns as well. :P I plan on registering a few as well.
I got some money finally so I want to buy some supplies like CARRIERS!! Anything I see..lol. Reason why im bringing Mocha and not leaving an extra space is so that I dont bring anything home with me because ive always done that kinda thing and Im not allowed any more buns then what I got..lol. Belle is an example..haha.
Yesterday I found out something very interesting which I thought was true from the start but everybody said it wasnt. Marshmellow, my holland pointed doe IS a choco pointed white which I always thought. Her dad was really a choco pointed white and mom was a black pointed and I guess the choco was better. Marsh's daughter from her litter is also a choco pointed too..lol. I have no black rabbits to compare but I used my chestnut and its definately chocolate. BONUS! I love chocolate. :P Ill be breeding Marsh again later if I get to another show this year. You never know!
Anyways, hopefully get these 2 little pains bred and get some BEAUTIFUL babies! :D
Cant wait to see all the AB and Prairie breeders in Edmonton too! Look for me or ill find u! Believe me, ill be going to see everyone. :P TTYS

Exams...

Well as expected, Its that time of the year!!! Exams!!! Woot!.....NOT!
The next couple of weeks are gonna be tight, all these exams and tests, etc then I am free!
Going to get a good job...$13.50 an hour...hehe...thats grande prairie for ya! Then save up for some new stuff and whatever I need!
On July 1 in Muskeseepi Park, I will be there with the bunnies for all your petting pleasure for the public to enjoy during the canada day events all day. Other then that I have to wait for the edmonton show in August! I am dying that I have to wait another couple of months!
I looked at my last blog and as seen on my tagboard, Nicole of course had 1 VERY large blue tort DOA a few days late. It was very expected since Blue is almost two times Nicoles size but I had to breed her or else same with which happened to Belle would happen to her... At least she had a baby!
Now back to a few things, I am going to be looking for a small holland buck(s) at the edmonton show to use as stud for Belle and Nicole so I can get them to have live litters or see if they can even have babies with a small buck. As long as the buck is SMALL, I dont care about faults or color (a shaded would be nice thou :P). In exchange for the stud, that person can use one or both of my boys for there does.
Also email me if interested in any bun, I may start to move some around a bit and some may go. Nicole will be available once I get a baby out of her and possibly Belle too... I will be looking for some nice carriers in edmonton sized for of course hollands, 3+ holes each carrier for reasonable prices, email me if u got some!
Lots of stuff I need and yea! haha...stressful week but who knows! I gotta keep going and not get mad..lol..you know what happens when exams come! I will post sometime later!

Waiting

Well just like last post, nothing much has been going on lately. The babies are now 8 weeks old and ready to go! Exams are coming up in a month so things are going to get very tight around here.
With those little ones, the pointed doe is actually quite nice right now except the fact she has ear control so I am not keeping her because this line does have a tentency to get ear control. I LOVE her points! The sable point buck is nice too except he needs to grow into his head and the siamese is just a mess right now so best as a pet home unless you want to take your chances and see if she will come out of it. With the pointed and siamese does, there coats are very odd, they may shed out into hollands but right now they have wool and a short coat, kind of a new breed of bunny! My rew Snowbell has an awesome coat with barely any brushing, the sable point buck is similar but more of a true fuzzy coat. Those 3 babies are available and I can deliver to the quad show aug 4-6 in edmonton or to vancouver island in august as well. Might show the sable point buck if not sold by then just for some fun.
Speaking of the show in august, I am sooo excited! I have been waiting forever to show Belle and Nicole since both havent been shown much and not even adults. Snowbell will make her mark as well! I have heard that a couple breeders from vancouver island may be going to this show and it would be nice to see some of them again.
Nicole is due in a week and I think there is only a couple babies just like her mom had. Hope she has them soon! I will blog again when she has them! Bye

Nothing Much

Well the past two weeks have been quite boring. I have been sick the whole time thats why! I have not actually had a good look at the little buggers because I have been sick but I will hopefully in the next few days. My buns are quite spoiled lately and have just been lapping up all the attention. I have also been informed if anyone was interested that there is a Canada Day event I will be going to?? once I have more information I will let people know. Babies will be there too!
Oh, just to people know, if your on the waiting list for a baby, I will be phoning you quite soon, possibly in 3 weeks. The reason is because I am debating like every other breeder that has seen they sell a pet bunny at 8 weeks and when it is an adult, its beautiful so I may start to do that with my own bunnies very soon.
As some may know, I did breed Nicole like a week and a bit ago to her granddad Blue. Nicole is a VERY tiny doe and like Blue, doesnt know how to put weight ON!! She is freefed and looks like she has never been fed! Blue and Nicole are both blue torts, Nicole is 2 pounds, very short and beautiful head/ears and Blue is 3.7 pounds, rare "puffy" head but BOTH lack in shoulders so I am not sure how these guys will turn out. There will some pet babies available when she has this litter and a chance of some show babies. If everything goes right, I have YET to produce a baby from Blue with his head, I am hoping this litter is it!
Oh, and hopefully in Fall/Winter I will be back in full breeding because hopefully we will be moving and I can finally get some more bunnies. So I am kinda waiting on selling Clover and Belle to see what happens next. Clover is SUCH a nice brood doe with lots of color, best coat ive ever had and VERY full body and I want to show Belle as a senior to see how she does and maybe give her one more chance at being a mom. That seems about it! Bye

Oh Man!

Well lets see..I just finshed typing alot of stuff and I tried to copy it so it would not delete and guess what! It pasted instead and I lost what I typed! AGGHH Now, I will try to remember everything that I just typed out!

OOkk.. babies are doing good and bunnies themselves are all happy. The easter extravaganza last sat was awesome and it was nice to see alot of childen! I loved it. :) Thanks to people who helped!

Getting back to bunnies, mainly the babies... I will explain in a bit more detail of them. So to start with..the sable point buck (please keep in mind im still not 100% on sexes yet!!), he is very nice right now..identical to daddy..I call him Mocha Jr..HUGE head and beautiful ears, stocky looking, true fuzzy coat, boxy but a little long at the moment..good temperment too...show or pet. The black pointed white doe has very nice markings, she is going to be small, good HQ, fuzzy holland coat, nice ears but has moms bad head- little long and narrow..just like mom..basically what I didnt want... adventious temperment though! Great brood or pet. The siamese sable has great coloring and a fuzzy holland coat as well. Like the pointed, right this second she has a narrow head and a little long..a week ago she was quite nice..the one to watch for sure! As for the unknown doe..she is either a rew or a light marked pointed white (I will not know until they are about 8 weeks old) She has a true fuzzy coat, huge bucky head and shortest ears of the bunch, she is also changing alot and right this second she is nicest so far..stocky and wide, may be a keeper. The unfortunate thing is that she is battling a disease that another baby had related to this litter and he died, I will keep people updated on her condition and if she makes it. That makes all the fuzzy babies! Quite nice looking and just like all Mocha babies...they defaintely take time to develop so they may turn out to all be show quality..you just do not know! I may be keeping 2 of em so they can grow then sell one..I plan to at least show one of the little buggers at a show sometime just to see how they do against competition.

Now with the current situation and my limited space, I am selling Belle to a good pet home since she can not produce and is taking up space. She is litter trained and a little suck, she is only a year old, a female holland lop if anyone didnt know and loves attention and is just so sweet. Email me or phone if interested in her.
I am forced to sell my first bunny too because I am so short on space and want to breed. Clover is available to a good pet home, she is litter/house trained, 2.5 years old holland lop female, loves attention and is a bit of a pig. The only thing I would ask is that I may know how she is doing once in a while since she is my fav bunny. Same as Belle, if u have the perfect home, plz email or phone me.

Now on the other subject, ANYONE that has a shed/barn/shop that I can use for a bunny barn, PLZ email or phone me. It can be small or behind a backyard, I dont really care, I am willing to pay/sell a bunny/do yard work for it. The shed, etc will be well maintained and I may fix it up a bit if nessessary. If u know ANYONE that has this, PLZ email me or phone so I can back into breeding again. I am also willing to have a partner in my rabbitry business so yeah!

Future Plans!

I figure it is easier to type out whats gonna happen within this year. Yes the babies are doing very well, getting huge and ever so much adorable. :P
Getting back, I am currently looking for another breeder or wanna be breeder somewhat around this area that would be interesting in breeding pointed white hollands and fuzzies. They are so hard to produce and seeing such a rare color on the show table would be my goal! I will share my current rabbits too. Rabbits are so much fun!
I am also looking for a barn in the Grande Prairie region to rent and use for my buns that is not too far away since I can not breed anymore with the space I am in now (a townhouse by the way). I would be willing to pay a price or do some yard work, etc. A small barn or shop would do please!
That brings me to my plans, hehe...with the barn I would be getting more stock to improve the pointeds and a couple other colors I want and of course type in the bunnies in both breeds. Getting into another breed would be awesome too just to have something different around. I may also be interested in looking for a partner so the jobs are cut in half so it is easier on me and my school work. At least till summertime..lol. I really want to create a more efficient website with my own url since geocities is starting to be a pain because it always times out now from so many people looking. I want to be "known" in this town with my happy bunnies that anyone can come and see and play with. Basically a real rabbitry again! I really want to continue breeding my bunnies until I can no more or continue until I can not move anymore. :P There so cute! How could you not!

Babies!

I am soooo happy now! I checked on Marsh at about 5pm wed afternoon and I put some hay in her nest box cause I knew she was close. 2 hours later after playing my ps2. I go down there and behold! Babies had finally come. She didn't make a nest just had them in the box. She has now figured out about nesting and her nest is FULL of hair..just like her mommy! She had 4 whites and 1 unknown. The one white got squshed in moving around of mom but rest are doing good. The whites are obviously either pointeds or sable points but I will not know until there eyes open. The other one though...unknown..its blackish blue..very strange since both mom and dad and 3 outta 4 grandparents are white... could either be a seal, siamese or something else...haha will know in a few days! Anyways off I go! Can't wait till they grow up!

Well I have rebred Belle yesterday, 4 times connected and MUCH more grumpier then last time. Marsh has got about 4 babies ive felt in her, hoping for some pointeds. Nothing much going on lately. Homework and whatnot. I have been working on the easter layout but its harder cause I lost the program I was using so it could be a little different then usual. Need to get rid of the winter!! Anyways ill update when Marsh has her litter next week.

I got a Blog!!

Wow, interesting...I figured since these blog things keep poppin up, I better give it a shot! There quite fun I believe, just posting what you want and whats happening. :P
Around here..hmm..I am sick and my schoolwork is doing good (as far as I know). I am almost finished getting ready for the easter extravagenza on April 15 in Muskoseepi park in Grande Prairie. It should be a blast, buns will get hours of attention and a little playtime. I hope so see some people there! Check out my buns. :P
On a different note, im finally got a litter in the making that might actually BE a litter. Marsh is confirmed preggy now, she is strange cause she doesnt get grumpy (just like her mom. :) ) and is quite good about it. She is a first timer though but we will see what happens, definately big enough! Maybe some pointed whites too...I had bred Mocha to Marshs relative Shizam not long ago and I didnt get any pointeds..5 sable points BUT I got some of the most beautiful fuzzies ive ever seen (One of those is Zoey of Rainstar Rabbitry) at least head and ear wise on a doe. Hoping things go good! Belle will be bred this weekend and we shall see what happens with her..stubborn little thing..It may be that she was bred too late..but im hoping thats not the case.
Unfortuntaly for me I am not going to any shows for a little while cause my only showable does are bred and theres just no point. I am planning on going to a couple shows in the summer since I do get to drive on my own by then. :P Watch out! My other goal is to get a nice barn this summer and to get some more hollands and fuzzies to make some more pointeds and another breed which I would LOVE to have. Hoping everything happens! Well I will update when things get going and a litter shows up eventually!
